  1. Fair point - but didn't it get into brawls more than once? I was trying to show why some may not like him as a character. Obviously I love JT now so I am a complete hypocrite!
  2. Nah - Houllier had tried to change the style far too fast for the squad we had who were in revolt against him for most of the season. Once McCallister was in charge he essentially reinstated the MON system from the year before. A Young went back out to the wing instead of playing "in the hole" where he'd been terrible and unproductive all season. (The speculation was GH played him there to try and bribe him to stay.) We eventually finished 9th but that league position flattered us as to how terrible most of it had been.
  3. Smacking people around because he doesn't like the music they play. Seems like a stand up guy.
  4. After chatting about Midlands today last week and @HanoiVillan mentioning Shefali I thought I'd tune in with my VPN tonight for old times sake. I made the mistake of keeping on the "One Show." What a pile of absolute trash. With all of the content available from so many sources these days who actually watches BBC 1 anymore. As for Eastenders...... Whoever wrote the theme tune is still creaming in the $$ though!
  5. Reasoned? Balanced? Good listeners? Why would you get a warning for those words?
  6. This x 1000 FWIW I think Purslow just wants a sexy new name. Anyway, apologies for sounding my depression and anger in here.
  7. Agree. I've been livid all day. 5 games FFS. The "want it all now" voices strike again.
  8. What if you change the order up? Sex, coffee then satsuma?
  9. Got me and the fam a matching set of pajamas and slippers each including the dog. (pajamas for the dog, no slippers.) Also got my wife a framed photo print of the cable car in San Francisco which runs outside her grand-parents old place (Hyde Street.) After the last couple of pandemic years I realize it's so important to make memories and stopping in December to spend time with the family is the best thing. Sod the miserable gits - I will be decking the house full on Clark Griswold style.
  10. Good job they've got us up next to allow them to break that habit.
  11. The standard of the bugle playing at the football grounds this weekend. The one right now in Newcastle is absolutely atrocious. 3 of them playing and not one of them is in tune.
  12. I enjoyed this. What a freakin' pyscho. Makes me terrified to see a doctor.
  13. My greatest fear is some nut job walking into my sons school (he's 2 1/2.) Those poor parents at Sandy Hook.
  14. Thank you for saying this. Bond purists and friend of mine who are Bond enthusiasts and who's opinion I value, all agree that Dalton was the best Bond and most true to the books. He was hampered by poorly funded movies (compared to the Stallone/Swarzenegger extravaganzas of the day) and also it was the height of the Aids crisis. There was a concerted effort to minimize Bond's sexscapades which made both movies seem like PG wet noodles. He nailed the character - the scripts and story were very so so.
  15. My wife was in the Broadway Orchestra and I played there a lot too. I have a soft spot for the show and I'm excited to see what they do with the movie. A lot of the tunes have grown on me over the years. There are actually a lot of prevalent points in the story that resonate loudly in today's world of Trump, racism and fake news BS. Also the beginning of the VT meme of 'no socks Stevo' was when @Stevo985 came to NYC and I gave him a backstage tour (KW please.) There's a pic of me and him - I am wearing knee high, rat-repellant, steel toe-capped winter clogger boots. Stevo is in loafers sans socks the goddamn big girls blouse.
  16. What questions would you ask him out of interest? Honest question.
  17. I'm sure I'll regret this as it seems a general consensus has been reached. We shouldn't sack him. He's had a bad month of results in an otherwise successful 3 years (relative to where we we when we met.) Pre-season was a disaster and he hasn't been able to bed in the new purchases due to injury and illness. The backroom shake ups have also had a huge effect and that needs to be sorted, but sacking a manager after 5 or so bad games is a fools game. Before anyone says it been since last season, well, we lost our star player for months due to injury last year. It would be foolish to sack him now he needs to be backed. Also, who the actual flip is out there to come in and improve us? I haven't read or heard one single suggestion who could do that.
