  1. I think he can point to his success at the likes of Sevilla and Villarreal where he didn’t spend huge amounts of money but improved the teams and some very average players as evidence he can make even the seemingly unimprovable a bit better although with Olson that is a big ask
  2. It’s good to see though isn’t it. To be honest I still want to see Kane stay and leave on a free at the end of the season and if it was me I would do that for sure. Why give levy £100 million when you could probably pocket most of that plus wages yourself
  3. I wouldn’t worry about it mate. Probably better that way for us, we know what we have and how he operates and I think one thing is for sure he is seen as well above average by Villa fans, players and board. Most likely it’s opposition fans being a little bit scared and rightly so of what he is building and how quickly and expertly he is doing it.
  4. I agree completely the run was Ian rush/Robbie fowler like and then the touch and set up without the foul I think he is rolling it in to the bottom corner. I think he needs to get more physical but the movement is clever and he will get chances with movement and timing of the run.
  5. Watching him body Vinicius off the ball shows to be what he is about defensively. Fairly decent pace, good reading of the game and a crazy level of strength. I’m not sure we will see many players out muscle him. On the ball he looks decent too even if still a little bit rusty.
  6. I actually think he was an idiot to sign his 6 year contract in the first place. It’s not like he wasn’t already regarded as a top striker then. All he did was limit his earning capacity (I’m sure he had a decent annual increase in the contract) while not being able to leave a mid table club and being one of the Top strikers in the world. Bad agent advice in my opinion and I would say the is 0% chance he signs a new deal now. he goes for nothing next year, that would be brilliant
  7. Assume he will wear 19. Clearly he wouldn’t sign until we offloaded marv to Luton and freed up the shirt
  8. This to me just looks like a guy that loves going about his work at a club that trust abs supports him and wants success as much as he does. Never been so excited about the start of a season
  9. The sun saying arsenal and spurs battling it out to sign him as if it’s a done deal he leaves. Unless the is a a release clause which I feel like the isn’t because we would have heard about it I would assume he would be fetching £80 million ? Given his form last season. I would say the is zero chance arsenal spend that much after just spending the best part of £150 mill on rice and timber. Spurs well that’s just a laughable suggestion from a silly little club so no point even discussing
  10. I can see Chelsea being a bit better because I see no way they could be as bad again but looking at there squad they have very little in midfield and defensively they seem to be depending on a 39 year old albeit a very good one so I would say top 8 for them is likely but I don’t see them in the mix for top 4. spurs I see next to no improvement in that squad unless they get very busy in the market in the next few weeks. I don’t see Maddison making a huge difference, Kane if he stays will be eying up his massive payday on a free transfer, son is in free fall due to his pace disappearing and Bentoncur who I really like is out until probably October and an injury like that will take a while to get up to speed. Brighton I think will be around 10th I think, still a decent side but overachieved last year and will struggle with Europe and the league i think. for us and yes I have rose tinted glasses on but we have one of the most elite managers in the world, probably the top keeper in the world, huge depth In quality at cb with two recent europa league winners, full backs perhaps a bit light. Midfield looks stacked with quality and depth and we look like we have good im the wide attacking areas and diaby will add real quality. Up front I would like us to add one more because we are very reliant on Ollie and hopefully archer in Europe. So I think we have depth to compete on all fronts and I could see us pushing close for 4th
  11. Good deal for all parties if we actually got a fee for him
  12. Just checked it Davies was very close to 23mph diaby was about 22.3 mph so pretty quick still in my book
  13. I feel for the lad and I hope he has access to the right support. However as a footballer finished completely although I always felt over rated
  14. Noticed he signed the contract with his right hand maybe mings is safe
  15. I’m getting this done in two weeks and I can promise it didn’t cost 17 grand. Maybe 7/8 grand
  16. Good Villa exposure in a potentially huge market albeit I don’t like the idea of catering to international markets when the bread and butters at home (the NFL style play a league game in a foreign market disgusts me) but if we can increase commercial interest in India/Bangladesh then all good in the dark world of commercial driven sport.
  17. On that point. Don’t we start pre season training this week? I would have thought the club will want to get him going straight away
  18. Ramsey is definitely. If he was playing for a club in Europe and we were goon to sign him we would be a mixture of ecstatic and scared that Man City or PSG were going to come and steal him. The guy is a high quality footballer who is getting better and better. I bet the isn’t many midfielders available this window who can pick up a ball on the half then 20 yards from our goal and have us on the edge of the opposition box in 6-7 seconds
  19. Just for perspective our 2018/19 midfield was Adomah, Thor, Connor, Jedinak, landbury, mcginn, Glenn whelan and a very young J Ramsey. It’s almost astonishing that 5/6 years later we have just added on a free tielamens to a midfield of dougie luis, kamara, mcginn, a fully up to speed Jacob Ramsey, dendoncker, buendia and little Phil C. I know Phil and dendoncker might not play many games but still the uplift in quality in that time is amazing for a side that was in the championship 5 years ago.
  20. And if all the add ins are met it will be almost double what we are paying for pau Torres just for a bit of perspective and I know they play in different positions but if you asked me would I be excited by us signing richarlison my honest answer would he no not really. He is an average player with a bit of an attitude problem and ability in his own head that doesn’t equal what he does on the pitch even if he is brazils starting centre forward. Am I excited about Torres? Yes absolutely because I’ve seen him play and have a decent idea of what we are getting and it improves the starting 11 therefore the wider squad. and on the subject of transfer fees I think we will go big once in this window just don’t know who but I also wouldn’t be surprised if we sighed Ferran Torres on loan instead so I’m sat nicely on the fence
  21. Absolute rolls Royce of a centre back
  22. Not being an Everton fan so therefore not being that close to it I am amazed they haven’t sighed any players yet given a few have left at the end of contracts. The team they would be able to put out currently is relegation material all over it and I’m not seeing anyone linked to signing for them although to be fair the isn’t much to appeal to players there at the moment
  23. Seems like a classic spurs signing decent player that has some nice touches will score the odd nice goal but also spend large parts of the game anonymous
