  1. I would go as far as to say he is the best manager 95% of the league could hope for. He is elite, compared to most managers in the league he is way above and rather than worry about a couple of defeats early in the process we should be looking at how we are rebuilding our club after 3 years in the championship not so long ago. I am in no doubt that whenever emery leaves us and what ever the reason we will be significantly better off for his time here.
  2. The one good thing gerrard did was get this lad. Providing he avoids injury we have either a potentially world class midfielder on our books or a huge amount of money on our books of the back of a free signing with wages that are more than covered by the cost of what we would have had to pay as a fee.
  3. Without those very slight errors and lapse in concentration he plays for a champions league side which we are not so that’s why he plays for us but I have to say those errors are less and the ability on the ball is more obvious since unai came in.
  4. Must admit I was amazed on the match thread that people were saying he is anonymous and needs taking off. Yes he had spells when he didn’t pick the ball up and drive 60 yards up the pitch but his work and they way he operates is excellent why would we want to sell that kind of ability? It’s madness I really do think some people need to have a word with themselves but I do accept that sometimes during the match it’s emotion talking and not maybe what people really think.
  5. I completely agree, some of us need to get a grip and understand we have an elite manager who is at the start of a transformation process and the will be some ups and downs at times but in the long run we will be a much more competitive side than we have been in 25 years. We really do need to support emery and understand it will take time but what he has achieved already is beyond what previous managers could get out of mostly the same players. If emery can’t get a tune out of some of these players it’s because they are poor either mentally or physically.
  6. Sent coady for chips. That was the funniest part for me that he was 5 yards away from him by the time buendia scored. How he ever made the England squad even as a cheerleader ahead of mings is beyond me.
  7. This felt like a bit of a tactical master class to me. Stifle a team who are at home and we’re coming into a little bit of form but other than mings clearance off the line I don’t remember them creating much and then when the times right pick the off.
  8. I doubt he has lost the players at all but if he has it’s them that need to go not emery, he is the one with the elite winning mentality a lot of our players have proved they are mentally frail.
  9. I don’t think the Man Utd deal makes that much difference from a financial point of view because if you look at the money Utd have spent in the last few seasons of failure it’s huge compared to almost all clubs except maybe Chelsea. The are only so many world class and top level players out there and extra money doesn’t just magic more players but I guess it’s how they structure the club and take it forward but I think it would be foolish to think Utd wouldn’t have come back at some point anyway.
  10. I completely agree with this comment. Yes he has his limitations and how we want to play might stretch him to the limit of his ball playing ability, I will even confess to getting annoyed with him when he pops an aimless ball down the Chanel or looks a bit casual and hands momentum to the opposition but despite that he is still be a mile are best centre half (Carlos excluded because he haven’t seen any of him). He has been instrumental in taking us from mid table championship to mid table premier league in his time with us and he has been a colossus defensively more often not, clearly an excellent leader and a real role model and ambassador for our club. Overall regardless of football he seems to be one of life’s better people and we should celebrate that he doesn’t just phone it in, he wants to be here putting himself on the line for Villa. All that said top level football is a ruthless business and we should always look to improve which might mean he gets replaced as a starter but whoever that might be we can all agree they will have to be a bloody good player which can only be a good thing for us villains
  11. Kepa at Chelsea how much was he? Emi is a mile ahead of him in ability
  12. Absolutely madness to let the guy bring in the USA starting midfield then sack him a week later! It’s crazy they have spent all that money as well and in my opinion worse then they were last season because Phillips glued them together. Now he is cheering on Man City from the stands every week and Leeds look like one of the worst technical premier league sides you will ever see and running will only get you so far. I do also find it funny the idea that the way to avoid relegation this year might be to bring back the guy that was going to get them relegated last year, that seems like classic Leeds to me but I actually don’t think it will happen.
  13. Feels like it’s one of Leeds Everton or West Ham to join Southampton and Bournemouth going down. I think West Ham will be ok but the Leeds and Everton squads are very very poor, Leeds have survived on a championship level squad with champions league level fitness and work rate but that crumbled away last year hence why they are in big trouble. Everton have equal as poor a squad assembled for a lot more money but I think they might just scrap out of it with dyche so I’m saying Leeds to go and I think with the wages they are shelling out they will have a fire sale or another financial implosion
  14. Struggling to agree with you here mate. They are not in the relegation zone by accident it’s because they have poor quality players and a poor board and ownership. That’s unlikely to change by next year given the current situation they are in and I just don’t see them being able to improve what is already and awful squad with much quality. I am half expecting that the Anthony Gordon money (lol that anyone paid anything for him in my opinion) will be funnelled back into the Russian guys pocket. I think league wise they are in a better position than we were when we went down but as a club I think they would be in serous financial trouble with this new stadium and no premier league money plus a bloated poor squad on high wages probably with no reduction clauses. It will be interesting to see and all I can say is I’m glad it’s not us anymore or at least for now
  15. I think he might find himself there a lot sooner than late 20’s this has got classic lad that thinks he is better than he is, has he even played 40 games yet ? And in those games contributed much.
  16. I think Calvert Lewin is one of Everton’s biggest problems. They have convinced themselves he is a bit of a player and therefore they haven’t felt the need to get a proper striker in but reality is he is a poser always ready to slid into the 6 yard box just that little bit to late giving the impression he was unlucky but for me it shows why he is a bad striker because he should just be there scoring a tap in. Obviously they have other big problems too like pissing money away on rubbish players. Other than Onana and maybe Pickford who would pay money for a single one of there players? Keane, Godfrey, Mina, coady (I know he is on loan) tarkowski, gray, iwobi (cost about £30 million wtf) dacoure. They are actually rubbish and premier league level.
  17. Just for perspective when emery took us over we had 12 points they had 14 we now have 28 points they have 15. By any accounts that’s pathetic
  18. Really don’t see them getting out of it this season, they are so poor and can’t see them improving the squad much in January and I don’t think even unai emery could help them with what they have
  19. I agree I feel like this means a big forward/winger signing suited to emery’s style which probably wasn’t possible with Ings wages. Sad to see him go, I like the player and also seems like a good guy but times move on and his age and value diminishing against huge wages makes sense providing a plan is in place but with emery’s attention to detail it’s hard to imagine the isn’t one.
  20. I think this is very unlikely even if we wanted to sell him. Everton can’t afford the fee and certainly can’t afford the wages unless they get rid of a lot of the rubbish they have which will be hard. From an Ings point of view I don’t see him wanting to join a basket case club on the verge of almost certain relegation when he would have better options.
  21. I thought buendia and Bailey were very poor I would like to have seen both come off and really am looking forward to Ramsey coming back we desperately need some pace moving forward in the team. Anyone time down sarr from Watford still ?
  22. I think the lack of effort is resulting in the boos and to be fair I wouldn’t be booing but we have been out ran and worked so far
  23. Bailey is a defenders dream, show him onto his right foot and he is a joke
  24. I don’t get why neves is still at wolves, he is a fantastic player in my view and far to good for wolves. Why would you stay at a club like wolves when you could easily go elsewhere because your agent has some sort of deal going with the club. If I was him I would be questioning if my agent is doing his best for me
  25. No Ramsey in the squad ??? Injured
