  1. Wtf? How is he doing a reasonable job? What would constitute him doing a bad job? Being fifteenth in the table and just having drawn 0-0 to a terrible Wigan side can't be considered a reasonable job under the circumstances. Jon would you still hold this opinion if we draw or lose to Blackburn tomorrow?
  2. Lose and he'll be gone, even Lerner will see that. Having said that I don't think we'll lose and I don't think we've got a big chance at getting the three points since we're shit. A draw and probably a 0-0 at that (I know, that's a brave prediction but I'm living on the edge these days).
  3. thought he was crap at West Ham, bought a lot of mediocre players on high wages like Neill and Boa Morte then was given 2 world class players and then preferred Hayden Mullins and Marlon Harewood to Mascherano and Tevez(though latter eventually got in the team) I don't disagree with you there but the high wages were because of that idiot Eggert Magnusson. I have never known such stupidity. The worst thing about him was that it wasn't even his money but he acted like he owned West Ham on his own. He was on the Icelandic version of MOTD a few weeks ago and my god I've never seen such a knob! He couldn't stop talking about how many people he knew in football back in England and acted like his time at West Ham was complete success. If you haven't noticed I can't stand the guy.
  4. I don't think even Alex McLeish can manage to make us lose at Wigan. Draw is not enough, it's a game we should win comfortably.

    Chelsea

Loads of people are saying that now but when Chelsea initially hired him most said it was a very good appointment. What he did with Porto was pretty special but I think his lack of success with Chelsea has more to do with that the spine of the team is getting on and the squad does need a revamp. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
  6. This is the reason I can't stand the man. He might have had some great success with Arsenal some time ago but he really is a miserable word removed (especially in his latter years). I also think Arsenal haven't played that good football for a good time now. Maybe on a few occasions but on the whole it's just been pass, pass, pass and no drive or intent.
  7. Isn't this about his seventh transitional season? No can deny that he has had some great success with Arsenal but how long can you live on former glory?
  8. I like it, simple but effective. Someone make it happen!
  9. Is that common in England? Sounds completely retarded.
  10. What the **** is wrong with them? :bonk: I swear I thought that blog was a parody until I saw the comments. That is just painful reading. It's like reading some sort of third reich brainwashing material (and no Godwin's law does not come in to account here, it's just the sad truth! :winkold:).
  11. Lerner. He might be naive but I still think he wants what's best for the club.
  12. A nice cold lager after a day (and evening) of studying. Ahhh...
  13. I agree with that. Too much off a nice guy.
  14. Sadly it seems like he'll go the way of Luke Moore (and lots of others) instead of Gabby Agbonlahor.
  15. He's played for us against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle so far this season, so it's not as if this was the first time he came up against good midfield players. I urge people to set higher standards and expectations for our younger players - at present they are our main hope and it does them no good to be defended to the hilt when their performances are disappointing. I'm sure everyone knows in their heart of hearts he should have done better against Man C and I expect he feels that the most keenly. Ridiculous. This was what his second game in the starting line up in the league for Villa? The whole team played poorly and you think he should have done better against a midfield of Barry, De Jong and David Silva!? It's hard to have a good game in midfield when you rarely see the ball and when you do there are not many options available.
  16. This is what is scary. Winning becomes a habit and the same thing can be said about defeat. Football, like most things, depends enormously on confidence and mentality. As things stand the fans and players have little confidence and that losing mentality is slowly creeping in.
  17. i noticed duney kicked the ball away from given when it was our goal kick, i couldnt believe what i was seing, half hour gone in the first half and were time wasting, was this an order from mcliesh? if i was manger and seen tis i would be furious I nearly posted that just a few minutes ago! It was clearly deliberate as well. Unbelievable stuff really. But you know what I actually think he believes the tripe he spouts about not being a defensive manager. He's delusional at best.
  18. It really is unbelievable how far we've sunk in the past two years (not looking to get in to a debate regarding our previous manager). It just makes me sad and angry what has happened in those two years and it looks like things are only going to get worse. **** football. I guess the only thing we can hope for this season is that we don't get relegated because I don't think Lerner is going to sack McLeish anytime soon. Maybe something will happen in the summer but in the meantime is our only choice sit and watch the utter crap that is being served up week in and week out? I know people don't like protests but surely we have to show the owner and people in charge somehow that we actually fear for what is going on at Villa?
  19. One impossible thing Randy has managed to do is get all of VT united. United in getting him and McLeish out. I thought it was impossible but he really has worked wonders.
  20. I agree that personal abuse shouldn't be tolerated but there will always be one or two people who let their frustrations get the better of them but most people here are just rightly criticising McLeish for his poor tactics and our godawful performances. Seems fair to me.
  21. Of course no one would have been happy with a 3-0 defeat. Maybe we were to defensive? Maybe?! No one is saying we should go gung-ho and all out attack against City but we should at least try to play a bit of football and muster the occasional attack. I can not fathom why people, having watched us this season, will continue to defend McLeish.
  22. Only a 1-0 defeat is a fantastic result really. Credit to McLeish for managing to keep it that low. Why bother to attack or even play football? Oh well I'm actually forgetting the last five minutes when we tried to create chances. That was an extremely ballsy move by McLeish and credit to him for that. What a time to be a Villa fan.
