  1. You really cannot compare the leagues No of course you can't but it's still a massive achievement what he's done with Molde and while doing so playing nice football. Solskjær would be a, albeit risky, exciting and potentially very good appointment.
  2. Pretty much how I feel. Seems like a very nice and decent guy but the job was way too much for him and he also seems deluded with himself as a manager. I don't think he's a liar, I think he actually beliefs the things he tells the press and himself. Should never have got the job in the first place but thank **** he's gone now. Although this season was a hundred times worse than the previous one, that's two season in a row which are basically just write offs. Lerner really, really, really needs get it right the third time.
  3. Have we? No and do we want that to continue? Should we just appoint a manager who has not had any success at the seven or so clubs he's managed in the past decade? I'd rather take a bit of a gamble on an up and coming manager who can build something at the club rather than a cheque book, journeyman manager. Ranieri is not the answer in my opinion.
  4. Then again I think we won't appoint a manager for another month maybe. No need to rush it, we have plenty of time.
  5. Nah, don't rate Ranieri at all. Hasn't done anything of note in the past ten years.
  6. What? From what I've seen of him, he looks pretty good. Certainly good enough for us to take on as a Bosman deal.
  7. A true Villatalker will read that as "so he's due a poor one then" :winkold:
  8. Yeah I get depressed just thinking about it. Wembley, consistent top 6 finishes and players like James Milner and Ashley Young is poor for a club like Villa... I'd rather be in a relegation scrap and play shit "football" (if you can call that crap, football).
  9. Stolen from Twitter: Alex McLeish's sacking is taking longer than expected because he's trying to draw his job rather than lose it.
  10. Good news for England, he certainly seems like he'll be an excellent coach and manager.
  11. The manager who succeeds McLeish here must have the best job in the world. No pressure and things can only get better.
  12. Why? He'd be my preferred choice from that list. Man U Reserves manager from 2008-2010. Won the Tippeligaen in his first season at his old club Molde. Big deal you say but was the club's first title ever in a league that Rosenborg has won 15 of the last 20 titles. Yeah me two, would love to have him here.
  13. I seriously won't be able to handle next season if he'll still be here. I know it's not a "proper fan" thing to do but I think I'll try, even though it will be hard, to follow football and the Villa more passively and try to do something else on Saturdays. His football and all around negativity is soul crushing for a football fan.
  14. That Falcao is pretty good isn't he? Delap. Long Throw.
  15. Salgado has been laughably poor for the past two years at least and he's 36 years old even though he sometimes looks about 60 on the pitch.
  16. This is all a huge conspiracy against us Villa fans. It has to be.
  17. What did he say? I can't believe he thinks he'll still be here.
  18. Heroic defending but the other teams have done it for us. Really hard to believe that we were actually eleven against ten Spurs players. Just one game left with McLeish and then we can forget about his horrible regime and this whole sorry mess of a season.
  19. Don't do anything stupid with him, its not worth the inevitable prison sentence, just hold him until after the Norwich game. Haha that made me laugh

It's great to see that he's in good spirits but I do worry about the mental side. He actually said that all the players deserved the award!
  21. I see that statement as "we're in the shit right now and as we think it's too late to sack McLeish then we are just going to have to hope the worst won't happen and we get relegated." He's definitely gone after the season, there is no way back for him - even Lerner must see that. McLeish must know that if he we do get relegated he's not going to get another job as a manager in the near future. His reputation will be beyond repair. It's just a question of keeping what little he has left of it in order.
  22. Please sack McLeish and then **** off when you're done with that. You are ruining the club.
