  1. I'm not sure if Lusail was built for the World Cup? The stadium for sure, but the rest of it Similar construction can be seen in any of the Gulf states or further afield. That's what development looks like.... I'm bemused by the amount of scorn and indignation that gets thrown in Qatar's direction. Whilst it is totally absurd that the WC is hosted in what is basically a City state, I would be interested to see the figures for deaths/injuries on construction sites in KSA, Egypt, UAE. Same practices in place here for a long time and barely get a mention in the bylines..
  2. And that's why I don't listen to the Joe Rogan Show. Thanks for the reminder!
  3. Never managed In the Premiership. Do not want.
  4. My Belgian better half tells me that Dendoncker translates as "the dark one"....
  5. I went to the cinema to see "Nope" on Friday., and a mate asked me how it was.. I wrote: "Flashes of brilliance... but weird inserts of gruesomeness to add shock value and mumbled dialogue with not enough witty repartee... bit like Stevie G as manager"

Speaking of Seamasters, I've fallen head over heels with this 1957 Trilogy.
  8. I used to live in a flat in Edinburgh and the name plate on the door was T.Carse. One of my mates came over, saw the sign and said T.Carse, aye? T.Carse and Mahogany Knob....

  10. You need storage facilities if you can’t send it to customers. Storage Russia hasn’t really got (Russia has a gas problem). Temporarily closing wells also brings problems (Shutting down wells is risky) Calling their bluff is probably the correct move.
  11. Conflicted is a great podcast series in which an ex Al Qaeda member turned MI6 agent gives his view on War on terror events since the Bosnian conflict. This episode in particular gives some good context to Russian, and particularly Putin’s motivations. Well worth a listen (as is the whole series) Conflicted: Enter Russia
  12. Sanson had a hand in both Utd goals and a lot of the chances they had as well, but I see enough in him to give him the benefit of the doubt given his lack of full matches. Like Buendia, he’s going to need match time to work these errors out of his play and I hope he gets it. Same goes for Bailey too….
  13. Great piece on our big arsed hero from the Telegraph... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/12/17/john-mcginn-exclusive-interview-no-one-has-backsize-big-mine/?utm_content=football&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1639756938
  14. I guess we are allowed to infer that players are missing due to Covid but the club cannot announce it without the players permission ?

Do any of our resident watch experts have any knowledge to shine on Yema watches? They've got a strong social media game but is there anything behind the hype? Nice looking watches but I need to know more....
  16. from Coaches Voice website….. "He was the Liverpool Under-18 coach, and I was the former under-23s coach who’d been away coaching in Brazil for seven months and just come back to the club. I didn’t watch any of their games or hang around their training sessions – just out of respect. I didn’t want to make him feel awkward….." it's a good insight into the man
  17. Newcastle United: Unai Emery to reject Newcastle interest - Guillem Balague …..Doesn’t seem very professional to him either…!
  18. This is loosely based on the topic but I didn’t want to start a whole new thread so…… using IOS devices to access VT on Chrome, Twitter links posted on VT r not displaying leaving a blank area (with perhaps some text typed by the poster). They show up fine when using Android devices, so I’m wondering if I need to change something in the settings on my iPad?
