  1. Match receipts were up, yet attendances are down by 10%? I know they are playing an extra 4 games a season in that league, but surely they would have also had to drop ticket prices when they were relegated? I smell a rat...
  2. Or, "I always supported [insert new club here] when I was a kid".
  3. Haven't seen this, but I wish the lad well and hope he can come back from this.
  4. Having McLeish as your clubs manager is like a handicap of only being able to field a maximum of 8 players per match. I firmly believe Darren Bent would have scored more than 9 goals last season if it was not for McLeish's brand of anti-football. I spoke to my old man on the phone the other day about McLeish. I wouldn't be surprised if they do not pick up more than 12 points in their last 20 games. I hope for their fans' sakes that this fraud does not last the season out up there...
  5. I really feel sorry for Forest fans. I like Forest, they're a club with a rich history who have had some terrible luck since we relegated them in 1998. It all looked good for them in the summer with the takeover and they were faring well in the league under O'Driscoll, but for reasons unknown to rational thinking humans, they replaced him with the biggest fraud football has ever seen. I don't understand Alex McLeish. He is not a football manager. He has no tactics, he is shit in the transfer market, he can't motivate a team, he basically has none of the skills required for football management. Yet he still gets multi-million pound contracts to manage football clubs at (disregarding SHA) seemingly prestigious clubs. I do not sympathise with the man when he inevitably falls on his arse, he does not deserve it. He earned more when he was Aston Villa manager than I will earn in my career, yet he does not appear any better equipped for the job than me. And I'm an engineer.
  6. By doing what MON failed to do in his four years - buy a decent centre forward.
  7. Don't know which hole you pull your stats out of, but Sky Sports has him down as a couple more appearances than 3... He is exactly what we need at the moment though...

    New York, New York

We got our flights for about £425 after watching for a while. I regularly check Skyscanner for cheap flights and that site is the best I have found. However, if I'd held out for a couple more weeks I could have had them for £350... I never book package deals these days. You can generally do holidays for half the money when you book everything yourself...

    New York, New York

It was amazing, and exceeded all my expectations. TSV's advice was excellent. We stayed in a fantastic (private) apartment on Franklin Douglass Circle, on the corner of Central Park which was piss easy to commute anywhere in the city from. Through airbnb.com - it came in at half the price of a low to mid end hotel. Check this site out, you'll get a great deal on there. The place is just amazing. I have a friend who next up with us in the city, them we went out for a night in Brooklyn with him and his girlfriend on the last night out there. We never managed to do everything we wanted to, so we will hopefully be going back before the end of the year!
  10. The article about their new 40,000 seater stadium, from February 2011. "could be built in just two years time"... http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ambitious-stadium-plans-revealed-by-birmingham-223189 I think something went a bit wrong...
  11. While Trent's summary is very good, I think the situation is actually a lot worse than stated. Peter Pannu has basically said their finances are ****, which leaves them minimal options. 1. They find a buyer for the club. Given that to do this they will need to show their books to prospective buyers, which they are charging £50,000 for prospective buyers to see, and then after paying, prospective buyers are withdrawing their interest, I would suggest there is not one single buyer who has seen the books who retains an interest in buying the club. 2. They have a fire sale to raise money to stave off administration (likely option - Peter Pannu has publicly hinted at this). Losing their key players would turn their season south - as far south as Fratton Park. 3. They go into administration. A 10 point deduction would see Blues secure bottom spot, two points below Barnsley and 7 points from safety. Should an administrator be appointed, the books will come out. If they have been suitably molested, as would appear to be the case (with the auditors resigning just a couple of months ago) this would mean a further points deduction of 25 points as per Chester. This would take their points tally down to -6 and certain relegation to the third tier. As far as I can see (hope), their club is currently worth next to nothing. They recorded a £10m loss for last season against a turnover of £61.4m - of which £45m was player wages. As their profile and league status drops, their revenue will only decrease, which combined with reduced parachute payments and a further reduction in turnover (attendances are down by 10% this season so far) can only result in a greater loss for this season. Insolvency could be on the horizon unless their debts are written off, which it looks like Carson Young is not likely to be doing in a hurry. I think their eventual fortune could lie somewhere between Portsmouth and Rangers. They appear to be in more of a mess than Portsmouth - Portsmouth were not hiding everything when they went into administration. I reckon relegation is an absolute certainty for them this season. Whether that relegation takes them to League One - or the Conference - one can only hope...
  12. It's looking good now. They either have a fire sale to avoid administration, resulting in deterioration of results and a very likely relegation; or administration and the inevitable points deduction follows, and they are dragged right into the mire. Either way, it looks like there is a tremendous likelihood they could be playing in the third tier come August.
  13. Just said pretty much exactly the same to my dad on the phone. I would hope we can win the next two and it should be a good confidence boost.
  14. Lazy journalism reporting (the Mirror, apparently) this morning McDogshit is after Bannan as his first Forest signing. There's a number of things wrong with this. 1. Bannan is Scottish. 2. McDogshit is Scottish. 3. McDogshit used to be Bannan's manager. 4. McDogshit already has the other former Villa Scottish player in Anal Hutton. 5. Scottish manager PLUS Scottish player PLUS tenuous link via a former employer MUST mean a link. I can do this journalism thing, me. - now make me chief sports writer of the Daily Mirror.

    Liverpool

Yeah, you can get dog shit pushed through your letter box for less than that. The uber-despicable Jen Chang will probably come round and do it himself...
  16. I'm staying in for the first time since in about 20 years. Apart from last year when I was in Aspen shitting myself with a nasty norovirus. Trekka - point your speakers at your neighbours and play this:
  17. I'd still keep some of the younger players, but not as permanent fixture first teamers. Also we need to keep Weimann. As for the rest...
  18. We need a commanding centre half, a left back, two solid central midfielders and possibly another centre forward. The team has currently got no spine. I doubt Randy will risk relegation and losing a minimum of £30m as a result - he could invest that and we could scrape survival. The one thing I am hopeful of at the moment is Michael Henke. He was only appointed two weeks before the end of the transfer window and will hopefully have earmarked the players we need to get us out of the shit. Which is where we very much are at present.
  19. This. He is the first person to get slated when we lose. There was a large number of people on here praising the seemingly successful partnership he was developing with Westwood until the Chelsea game...
  20. Spot on. If you can't provide balls into the striker, you can't expect him to score goals. Against Spuds, we got the ball out of our half for about 30 seconds in the first 30 minutes. We are not going to score if we cannot create anything.
  21. I haven't found anything to use it for yet...
  22. Had potential, picked up a nasty injury, never fulfilled potential, is now a bit shit. I would loan him out to a Championship side for the rest of the season and see if regular football does him any good. If he still looks shit after half a season elsewhere, ship him out.
