  1. So what they're saying is, the Super League will have worse teams than the current Champions League.. and you'd have to pay for it? Yeah, not gonna work.
  2. It's supposedly going to earn clubs a lot of money. The PL is currently the most lucrative, almost entirely because of TV money. If the Super League is going to be free on tv... where does the money come from, exactly?
  3. I hope UEFA keep both eyes on Barca's accounts and look for any and every way to punish them in regards to their financial struggles. Having a party when Barca die.
  4. Rebranding a fairly historic NBA team, and making them one of the better commercial teams in the league. Despite it being near the bottom of the league in revenue, with a very ugly look when he took over. It also happens to be a team from one of the bigger cities. Almost as if there's a few similarities there. I've seen a few people on twiter say that he doesn't understand football. He's not the **** manager.
  5. Yeah, with hindsight I kinda wish it happened rather than being against it. The PL generally isn't that fun in terms of competitiveness and I think it'd create a perfect opportunity to **** of these teams, add a salary cap to the league and make it actually fun. Yeah, top players would leave, but does it matter? We've basically never really had top players and it hasn't stopped us watchin.
  6. Think we'll have to agree to disagree, no point going around in circles.
  7. I just don't see him leaving. There's genuinely nowhere else in World football where he can has what he has at Villa. The club is built around him, he's been given the keys and the owners clearly love and trust the guy. Most 'bigger' clubs, the owners run the club and you have to make do with what you've got. Here, he can do things his own way, with decent finances. It's a really perfect match for everyone involved.
  8. Thought this was surprising/interesting. Considering the consensus that th Giants need to walk away from Jones and Lawrence is the future.
  9. I think there's more of an argument that Ederson isn't in the top 10 than there is that he's better than Emi.
  10. Mental strength is a big part of it and Arteta just doesn't have it. I think Liverpool win the title this season and believe that come the end of the season, we'll be talking about how the Spurs VAR nonsense robbed them of an undefeated season. (Queue Liverpool losing this weekend).
  11. I think our best players (Bellingham, Rice, Kane, possibly Stones) are among the best, if not the best, in their position. Everywhere else they're not even close. I even include Kyle Walker as an almost cert on the team sheet, and it's clear he's a bit past it. As for Luke Shaw, he's probably my shout for most overrated player in World football. I think Saka is a difference maker that you need at the highest level. At the World Cup he had France on toast. Anthony Gordon can't beat a player to save his life, and I don't think we're going to be the 'chuck the ball in to the box at every opportunity' side that Newcastle are.
  12. Didn't realise just how rich their owners were.
  13. Saka. Sterling is out of the thinking though his England record is decent and he's having a good season, the others have either never done anything for England or can't get in their club team. Grealish, Rashford or Gordon starting on the left for England is a scary thought.
  14. I don't think it is the badge. It will just be part of the 150th branding. The colours are perfect and we should be using those exact shades going forward.
  15. it's also a job that you can basically only fail at. Even if you win a tournament you will 100% have "Well with that squad he should've won more". You have to be a nutter to consider the job IMO.
  16. Yeah, it's one of the worst pieces of officiating I've ever seen. It's one thing to get a fairly straightforward decision wrong, but to book him twice for the same incident when one of them wasn't even directed at the ref is insane. But again, absolutely no accountability.
  17. It's a shame to see a manager do so well at a club and ultimately become a victim of their own success. Forest will be fine this year, but sacking a fan favourite manager when they're more or less par for the course can create a bit of toxicity which can see things get worse. The top end of the Championship looks to have a decent bit of quality, so the bottom end of the PL will certainly be better next season and Forest need to be careful.
  18. Trippier has played 3.5 games in December, been directly at fault for 6 goals and missed a penalty in a shootout. That's surely up there with one of the worst individual months ever by a PL player? It's astronomically bad.
  19. Their "crisis" is a bit like Man Uniteds. More or less a perfectly normal season, but disappointing in Europe.
  20. Won't be allowed to develop I don't think. Won't get a look in when they're healthy and can spend.
  21. I doubt it happens. The ref has all but scored a goal for Newcastle today.
