  1. This for me. We had a really brilliant squad and autos should've been the aim. I think Deano is a really crap manager, but at least he took us up (again, should've been autos).
  2. I think the Boro game showed just how good we are at it, and in fairness to the assistant referees they were spot on.
  3. Yep. Not very tech savvy to format on here, but here's some numbers between the 2 over last eason and this season that back up my eye test anyway Alisson has to save a lot more, interestingly only 4 keepers made more saves last season. Also among the save % leaders in that period, including 1st this season - Ederson very bottom end for the last 18 months on both. Alisson also saves more than he should, last season's +10.1 is even more absurd when you consider only 2 keepers got over +5.0. Better sweeper keeper by a distance as well. Unsurprisingly Ederson's distribution is better over distance, which is why he's Pep's keeper as he values this highly. Short and medium passing are essentially the same. Personally don't rate Ederson at all. I think there's a bigger argument as to whether he's in the top 10 in the PL as there is to whether he's the best. EDIT: Ederson's PSxG this eason should be -2.3, not 23. (PSxG = Post shot expected goals - how many more/less goals you concede than you should based on the shots you face DOA = Defensive actions outside area - sweeper keeper stuff - Emi is 1st this year for perspective)
  4. In fairness, I can understand him not directly wanting to say "Yeah I've literally just come here for money", regardless of what we think of the clubs, it's disrespectful and I'd feel annoyed if a player said that upon joining Villa. But surely even a "it's the right decision for my family" is enough, rather than doubling down on his nonsense.
  5. Was this your first watch of Train to Busan? Only watched recently myself and think it's brilliant.

By basics I mean carrying a ball, a first touch, etc. Watching Mudryk fall over the ball trying to run with it or Gallagher mis-controlling a pass to an opponent is not at all tactical. But I do agree otherwise.
  7. Remove the drop shadow and have a claret lion and it's basically perfect. Not it's biggest fan, but also don't think it's anywhere near as bad as others seem to.

I think mostly the opposite. A collection of overrated hype jobs that have shown real minimal quality, and not even just from a tactical stand point. They can't do the basics of football.
  9. Just can't take a London red seriously. Though the way he is on TalkSPORT is for engagement, clicks and viral clips and he's very good at it.

Was just looking through their manager history; Tuchel was only there 18 months!? And since Conte, the manager with the best win %? Sarri at 62%. (Conte was 65%).
  11. Interesting that he doesn't want a GB News job. Maybe he is just a completely unhinged sociopath. We probably gave him a bit too much credit that he's doing this for anyparticular reason.
  12. Some people will not give credit where it's due no matter what. It doesn't mean you have to like the bloke, but this is objectively good for Villa.

I genuinely don't see what Enzo offers in any way.
  14. In John McGinn's last 78 games, he has 8 goals and 9 assists. Should he be a bench warmer too? Or does McGinn being cheaper have some bizarre relevance to performance?
  15. Yes. Because that's his job and despite NS being here for 4 years we've got a dodgy Castore deal?
  16. I clarified they could've signed someone cheaper, he's not even a Pep player. But Pep can fit anyone in to his system, more or less, and it also stopped anyone else signing him.
  17. It's not just that he can make that pass, it's that he has the willingness to try it. So many of our attacks stall because we just go right to left and back again via the defence and eventually just lump it in.
  18. Nah. I think I know what the intent of my own words are.
  19. Deloitte has them as #1 for 2023, for the second year running. Though I suppose you could argue it's as a result of cheating. But we've no idea.
  20. I call him Pep and I can't stand the bloke or the club, it's not a term of endearment.
  21. It's mad that they even feel the need to break FFP. The rule literally exists to protect City, Chelsea, etc from anyone like them ever happening again.
  22. Bailey hasn't even been favoured this season when fit, despite his output. He's started 8 PL games and been on the bench 11 times. Last season under Gerrard when both fit (13 games) Buendia under Gerrard: 4 starts, 9 bench Bailey under Gerrard: 11 starts, 2 bench Last season under Emery when both fit (20 games) Bailey under Emery: 15 starts, 5 bench Buendia under Emery: 17 starts, 3 bench. In fact arguably the most drastic change to our team when Emery came in was the fact that Buendia was more or less starting every week. Coutinho was the biggest loser in terms of starts for that to happen, then Bailey.
  23. I still find diet by far the hardest thing and I've never really found a way around it. Not sure whether it's a metabolism thing or what, but as soon as I eat anything, I'm hungry all day. I have no idea how people cope with it. I basically just don't eat all day, have a pre-gym meal at 1am, go to the gym, then when I get home I'm tired to care about eating more.
  24. One of my neighbours does my head in. I see him basically every day and he's a nosey **** and is constantly saying "Just wondering if I could ask you something". Except he doesn't say ask, he say "axe". Has anyone else heard this before? I feel my blood boiling.
  25. Yeah he's a decent enough Championship manageer and I don't see them going down now. Sensible appointment, good guy as well.
