  1. A prime example as to why Spurs are the most hateable club in world football...
  2. It’s all about King Konsa... The best CB I’ve seen play for us since Laursen
  3. Yeah, the Bent we signed wasnt the Bent that we wanted him to be when he was 3-5 years younger... But the one we signed from Sunderland for a record fee was important for us at the time and scored some vital goals for us, to be fair!
  4. Another injury related one... Mark Delaney... Was with us 8 years and injuries never seemed to leave him alone... But he was a quality right back... and could have achieved more than he did with us if it wasnt for the injuries...
  5. So he would be about as effective as signing Drinkwater and Samatta?
  6. This is not ITK or anything... Merely asking peoples opinions: How would you lot feel if we signed Dele Alli? EDIT: Oh ok... Generally not a lot of people are in favour of it... Me neither to be honest... but then again... Another young, hungry, out of favour England international? Couldnt go far wrong could you?
  7. Just found out, he has made more appearances for us than he has for any other club... Cheers Tyrone!
  8. Having an Argentine and an English goalkeeper... both who have been called up to their respective international sides... as our first and second choice keepers is a very nice problem to have. Heaton will need some time to get back up to speed... but Martinez will know that there is a more than capable keeper to step in if he has a bad run of form or injury... There will be opportunities for Heaton to play, and I reckon Martinez will be happier (and possibly a better player) for such a high standard of direct competition
  9. To put things into perspective, I only really got into watching the Villa in 1996 when we won the league cup and it was on the telly and I watched it with my family. I didn’t really have an interest in football before then.
  10. Very articulate young man who has worked his way from rejection at youth level to Sunday league football and, by-hook-or-by-crook, has made it to the Premier League. He comes across as an incredibly level headed bloke
  11. ^^^^^ This If we sold him, we would be in trouble regardless of how much we got for him... If someone wants to buy him, they will need to be willing to jeopardise their clubs long term financial future in order to do so... Anything less would be a disservice to Villa
  12. Can't help but feel rotten for the bloke that his Wikipedia article hasnt been updated since 2017 when Bruce signed him for us... No mention of his contribution over the past three years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmed_Elmohamady
  13. Quite possibly the most exciting, creative attacking player I have ever seen in a Villa shirt...
  14. Have they? Well that’s not enough pegs... They need taking down even more
  15. Please let us beat Spurs... Let us take them down a peg or two, and derail their title challenge even further... I don’t ask for much... But I am asking for that
  16. I was saying this to a friend of mine the other day.
  17. I was working tonight so I missed the game... In the highlights, he looked lively and put in a very good performance... But we DO need competition at left back... or at least cover
  18. Imagine working for a company for 10 years and always seeing someone new get the promotion and the job you wanted... Then being given the job on a temporary basis and doing really well, smashing all your targets... and then your employers to still pick someone else for the full time position... Emi is loved and wanted here... and he can feel it too! Just wait until we can be back at Villa Park and he will hear us chanting his name like it deserves to be!
  19. He’s a good shout... but I think Emi might just edge that so far
  20. About this time last year... We were struggling and I started to doubt Smiths experience at this level, was thinking the owners should pull the trigger and get someone else in who could get us in out of the relegation dogfight we found ourselves in... With 20/20 hindsight? I’m glad the board had more faith in me... What a turnaround in fortunes Dean Smith has engineered for this club, alongside the chairmen who saved us from oblivion... I’m sorry for losing faith Deano! You’ve given me more to cheer about as a Villa fan in the past 2 years than I’ve had to cheer about in the past 2 decades!
  21. It’s refreshing to not see us play like that every game! (Edit: meaning not to be hoofing the ball up the pitch for the opposition to immediately take possession) Villa actually play football now... It’s exciting to be a Villa fan again where as for the best part of the last 10 years? Its been quite painful
  22. He is shit scared to take a shot and opponents know he has no confidence with his right foot... He has to do a lot more than a “was it skill or was it luck” goal against Bristol to convince me we have the player that we hoped we did
  23. Yeah... I definitely saw him mouth the words “crap” but you could tell it was said in a Brummy accent as well just by the way his mouth moved
