Bizarre. All out defence and long ball to a striker (whether Hogan / Gabby) who can't win headers or hold up the ball. And even if they did, there'd be no-one anywhere nearby to do anything with it. It was like we were playing Man Utd at Old Trafford and just didn't want to concede. We can blame the players for being a bit rubbish, but there wasn't much chance to do anything else if they've been told to hoof it to no-one, and defend for 90 minutes. A tactical shambles.

He may be 31. He may have personal issues. And he may not have played much for the past year. But he's a big player, who has played for and scored goals for massive clubs. If we didn't have Sherwood, there's NO WAY he would want to play for Villa in our current state. So with that in mind, I'm calling this one a coup. COUP.

He seems like a nice guy, he did great for us and he's a talented footballer - so I hope he does well...just obviously not against us. The same as I hope Ian Taylor's headphones business goes well - he's a good bloke and I hope he's successful. And let's be honest, unless they're on the same pitch as us, we're not really 'competing against' Liverpool. Nonsense. He's not my friend. He was employed by something very important to me and did his job very well. That's as far as it goes. Ian Taylor supports the same club we do so its totally different.
