  1. FC Zurich, who sing that, have the same number of verses.... if it's good enough for them, then why is it not good enough for us?! It's considerably better than singing "they're by far the greatest team..." Do you think Liverpool fans in an historic Champions League match would be singing *insert team name into generic football chant*? No. Because they passionate enough about their club that they are willing to spend time to be imaginative and creative and come up with great songs. If you're at a game, your aim should be to try and inspire the team. If not, you might as well stay at home and watch it on MOTD.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrIt8lX9J7c Working with this chant...I've had a little bash: Aston Villa - we love you We are the boys in claret and blue Villa Park is sight of wonder (?) Proud history and a bright future Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Aston Villa - we love you To Randy Lerner, we say thank you He bought Maloney, Young and Carew Martin O'Neill will win us the cup Villa boys are on the way up Gareth Barry will lead us to victory We're the best team in the whole of the country Stars like Petrov and Luke Moore Craig Gardner and Agbonlahor Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Aston Villa - we love you We'll keep clean sheets cus we're immense With Martin Laursen in defence (add next six lines about new signings?) Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo, lo Aston Villa - we love you Thoughts and improvements?
  3. That sounds really cool; need a few more listens to get used to the tune before I can think of any ideas for it atm, but great find.
  4. Ahhh, I first spotted the chant during a Liverpool match (v PSV) and did a bit of research found that it came from PAOK. Guess the Liverpool fans at the match thought it was a good tune too and had the same idea.
  5. Is the General going to put these on the other websites so all other fans know about them? My particular favourite atm is the 'ooh aston villa, my might villa...'. Plenty of time to learn the songs as well.
  6. RE: New York, New York.....super super stuff mate! Agreed that I prefer VILLA, VILLA, instead of AVFC. I feel that this is something everyone could sing before and at the end of the match in the same way that Liverpool & Celtic do with You'll Never Walk Alone! Tubz....the Petrov one is good, might need a bit of fine tuning, which I'll have a think about when I get a chance but good start. I don't know the Mickey Mouse or Captain Bucky O'Hare tunes, so when I get a chance to look for them, I will give feedback on them. I like that we're getting a bit of imagination, that is the most important thing I think, you know to make us stand out from the rest. Keep up the good work and I'll try and come up with some asap. Villa! Villa!
  7. Barton seems more of a brute to me than a Gerrard player. His off the ball positioning leaves a lot to be desired for because he is often stood with an opposition between him and his teammate with the ball, making him ineffective. A better McCann, I feel, but not one significantly better to help our revolution!
  8. We need a new goalkeeper. Tommy never comes outside his six-yard box, hardly commanding for our defence. Agree. And there still seem to be some odd communication problems as well. Don't know what he does for the defenders, but he doesn't inspire confidence in me. Yes, he can pull off some good saves - what goalie can't? But over the whole range of his game, on balance, I think we need to do better. Perfectly put

  10. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but if we're looking for a big striker - Yakubu. It amazes me that the top teams have no signed him. He has scored goals for Portsmouth and Middlesbrough, both of which are teams that were/are struggling in the Premiership. If he can score goals for them, imagine what he can do for a decent side. Strength, pace, finishing. Yakubu is a top class player. But whether Middlesbrough would even consider letting him go is another thing.
  11. There have been times when he's a hero and times when he hasn't played so well. At times it didn't look like he was bothered to be out there, and others he has sped around that pitch like his life has depended on it. And though he hasn't lived up to his huge money transfer, he earned respect from the fans by the way he has conducted himself. Villa hero.
  12. I'm surprised that Cahill hasn't received more votes. Agbonlahor has played very well, but I feel that for a youngster to play centre back in the Premiership is a much more difficult challenge because you need confidence, maturity and consistency or else your chances of appearing again will be gone. Cahill for me.
