  1. You don’t like him do you?
  2. A very poor performance. We had the majority of the ball but seemed to struggle to get it into the oppositions penalty area. We lack a cutting edge and we lack a leader. What this game will have done is shown Gerrard that plenty of them are just not good enough for where we want to be. As many have said, Trezeguet should be embarrassed by that dive. He certainly embarrassed the fans and anyone connected with AVFC. For Steven Gerrard the work starts now.
  3. Good for us in the championship and that’s about it. Flatters to deceive and we should be looking at players at a higher level. Thanks and good luck.
  4. anyone else’s picture quality shite on Amazon or is it my internet is shite?
  5. this is the first time I’ve watched him since he left us and I have to say he looks a pale shadow of the player that left us. He may well come good again after any settling in period or system of play change etc but at the moment he’s anything but a 100mil player.
  6. You are assuming those clubs will do something that have not shown so far in those games in hand and win matches. If Newcastle show the same fight and spirit as they did against, albeit a poor Man United, they will pick points up and give themselves a chance of survival. Especially if they manage to add a couple of quality players. They did not look like a team in the bottom three last night. fwiw, I think they will stay up.
  7. It really doesn’t matter if you don’t have the ball. A foul is a foul is a foul. what about when someone gets pushed in the back as the ball is in mid flight from a corner? regardless, it was an awful decision and yet another awful use/mis use of VAR. It would not have changed the outcome one bit. Sportswash 1 would still have won
  8. Just posted in the Newcastle thread. Newcastle should have had a blatant penalty where the goalkeeper takes out the forward. Ref doesn’t give it VAR checks it and also doesn’t give it. It’s remarkable it’s not really even a contentious decision. Has VAR Improved the game? Not in the slightest.
  9. Should have had a penalty ashen it was 1.0. A blatant foul from the keeper and VAR brush it aside. Another absolute joke of a decision that goes in favour of the Sky 6
  10. John Morgan drummer in The Wurzels, gone to drink that cider in the sky, aged 80 More details here The Forest of Dean drummer John Morgan was taken ill with Covid after a huge Wurzels gig in Manchester earlier this month, and passed away surrounded by his family in hospital in Gloucester on Friday.
  11. Awful cricket from England just as bad as the Aussie commentary that I’m having to put up with
  12. 73 I Quite liked him an oldun but goldun
  13. Never ever seen this before at VP.
  14. Noooooooooo It has to be his time now...
  15. If he does then great. It will prove he's a top man manager. Win win.
  16. jeez mate there's approx 7.8 billion people on the planet....give your head a wobble
  17. Not been posting much of late but i'll put this out there and then get back under my stone. I really don't get all the negativity over Gerrard being the next Villa manager and the 'he's only ever managed in Scotland and anyone can do what he's done'' Every new manager has to cut his teeth somewhere and has to be given a chance and from what i've seen he seems to be doing alright for himself. He has a winning mentality and will have a burning desire and a hunger to succeed. He has continued this mentality into management from his playing days. Every managerial appointment is a gamble, even the so called 'experienced one's. Ancolleti, Mourinho and more have failed at various clubs. Many on here would take Potter, but would they have taken him from Swansea, like Brighton did, with the credentials he had at the time? Low level playing career, managing in Sweden and then one season at Swansea. I doubt it very much, but look at how highly rated he is now. The same can happen with Gerrard. The club will surely invest in him when the January window comes round and with him being a midfield it will not take him long to see our shortcomings which was part of Deans downfall. Yes it will be a gamble, but i think it will be a calculated gamble and with the right backing he can push us up to the next level where Dean couldn't and surely that's what we all want.
