With Tuanzebe likely to be moving on next week, I wonder if Gerrard will look to take Connor Goldson as a short term option to cover Konsa? He’s a local boy and desperate to be closer to his family. I’ve spoken to his father a couple of times in the past when he was linked with Wolves and West Brom. Not sure if he’s really good enough but could be a short term squad option.

We’re surely going to look at our defensive options in January and next summer. Guilbert, Tuanzebe, Hause and possibly Young won’t be with us next season. A specialist “no 6” midfielder is also a must but has been for two years now.

Tough game against Man Utd this evening. Should Newcastle lose this one they’ll have one less point than Burnley but will have played four more games. Games against Everton, Southampton, Watford and Leeds after tonight, which will probably define the remainder of their season.

Gutted. First half, we held our own and played some lovely stuff. Final third decision making though was very poor at times. Cash brain fart meant we didn’t go in winning at half-time. Second half, poor but Lukaku made the difference. Mings seemed scared every time Lukaku went near the ball. Ings/Watkins on the pitch together, just no. Sanson a positive.

It’s a real shame because Lukaku has made the difference here. If he wasn’t fit today, I honestly don’t think we lose the game.
