  1. I'm of the same mind. This team should be too good to go down regardless of who is in charge.
  2. Like you I'm in a 1950s house. We have loft and wall insulation but the windows are single glazed and the doors are in need of replacing. It's freezing in the winter and we have bad condensation on the windows. Can I get any kind of grant for this? No. Next door adjoining my house is a council tenant. They've just had theirs done on the council. Not jealous (ok, I'm a little jealous) but I guess the logic is because I can afford to own my house I should be able to afford to replace the windows and doors but I don't think I'm alone in that I'm "working poor". The system stinks.
  3. Still lying about 40 new hospitals and the thousands of new nurses and police I see. Absolutely disgusting. Covid really could have done us all a favour and killed this dangerous halfwit.
  4. The guy hasn’t don’t the hard yards as a manager that earns him the right to more time. He landed the Rangers job, outspent a Celtic team that at that time was tired and complacent having had no real competition for a decade. He didn’t do anything special there just what was expected.
  5. Normally I’d agree but with this squad of players a nominally competent manager would have us well clear of any danger where goal difference would be a factor.
  6. Genuinely hoping City take us to pound town today. Short term pain for long term gain. Need to get this fraud out of the club.
  7. Ridiculous comment. It’s a massive club that’ll pay wages second only to the top 6. Manager who although he’s proving to be a tactic clown still has huge name recognition. Opportunity to play in a newly upgraded ground soon. World class training facilities. Biggest club in the region. I’m not saying the league situation at the moment isn’t bad but have some perspective.
  8. They'll just **** off to that Trump equivalent and be in an echo chamber of hate, xenophobia and out and out racism.
  9. There's a subtle art to managing contracts and moving the right players on at the right times and we've **** sucked at this for a lot of years now. Doug can't be allowed to go without adequate replacement.
  10. All Gerrards media mates are rallying round him in force today.
  11. I hate the signing. Every time I’ve seen the guy I thought he was terrible. All that being said if we do it then we all, me included have to put those opinions away and back him otherwise it just makes the situation at the club much worse.
  12. Pretty much what we all expected was going on. The media properly failed us all when they didn’t expose these people for the charlatans they were.
  13. So I don't particularly have any historical affinity for the round badge of '82, because I wasn't born (1988). The badge I remember is the striped one, which I always thought was naff but it was less important back then because the internet wasn't really a thing and football clubs were less "businessy" than they are now. Personally, I think the round badge with a few updates can be the perfect blend of modern while also serving as a reminder to our glorious past. If not the round badge, then I think minimal is best, Just a lion, a star. Either that or just A.V. something along the Juventus lines.
  14. Actually, even to my surprise, I kind of agree. He's a limited footballer there's no question but I do have to wonder if he could do a job. A spoiler who breaks up play, bit of a nasty piece of work and physically something we don't have right now.
  15. I think this really depends. What we've seen pretty much around the world is barriers going up and protectionism and thats really really dangerous as it harks back to an era where the great powers of the world were in really unhealthy competition and didn't talk to each other. As things start to get much worse economically it's almost irresistable for policiticians to offer hyper-simplistic causes, point at others, foreigners, Muslims, immigrants, Russians etc, and blame them for everything wrong with our country. In a culture like that it's a difficult sell to convince people that we need to come together with countries that share similar values to us, even though they speak another language, perhaps they look a little different or they have a slightly different way of doing things. The truth is we've been receding as a world power for a century and that as other countries of the world industrialise and their standards of living improve to match our own so to does their buying power and unfortunately there's only so much food, water, power, 'stuff' to go around. Ultimately, this is the first generation that'll have less of pretty much everything than the previous one.
  16. They’re terrified of having another situation where a bunch of these companies go out of business which would lead to them actually having to do work to help those customers, so they’ve decided the best thing they can do is let the energy companies rip off every UK household.
  17. We didn’t exactly looks 2 leagues better than Bolton but jobs done, move on. He couldn’t really win tonight. If we batter them it’s expected, if we lose it confirms what some people already thought. In some ways tonight’s result is the worst of both for Gerrard but ultimately he’ll be judged by league performance as he should be. Top half has to be his minimum requirement after what we’ve spent and the team he has.
  18. The irony of Russia complaining about foreign agents carrying out assassinations on it’s soil….
  19. If there’s any truth in this then Gerrard or Purslow have to go. Those two need to be in lockstep and if they’re working at cross purposes then someone has to walk or be pushed. fwiw I like the signing. We don’t currently play with wingers, but that could just be because Gerrard doesn’t like any of his existing options. What’s obvious is that the existing system just isn’t working at all and we need to be able to be tactically flexible. The people who are against the transfer “because Gerrard doesn’t play wingers” are probably upset because with the system we play we do, justifiably, need reinforcements badly in other areas but if we’re planning a tactical shift, which I think we can all agree is needed, this makes sense.
  20. Sub konsa immediately. Give McGinn 10 minutes in the second half before hooking him for Doug.
  21. Truly horrible. Let’s just cut out the middle man and start every game 0-2.
  22. We have Mings who’s form last year was questionable at best. Konsa who’s form has taken a nose dive off a cliff. Hause who has always been a championship level defender. Chambers has done nothing wrong when called upon tbf. As for feeney. Really? You really want to go into a season where we should be aiming for top half with someone so unproven? Not saying he couldn’t do it but that’s an enormous risk.
