  1. My mother in law is a head teacher. You could cut her rage with a knife as well. The accusation that they were all having a jolly in the staff room is just ridiculous, wrong, shameless. I don’t know how anyone can possibly vote for that clown.
  2. The Americans had an election in the middle of a civil war when they only had half a country.
  3. I’m convinced that he’ll be gone fast after the local elections. They won’t want to undermine their candidates in the middle of a campaign and risk an even greater catastrophe. Regardless they’re going to get massacred at the elections and that’ll be the end of him. He’ll go not because he’s done wrong but because he’s become an electoral liability….tories just doing Tory things.
  4. Surely a time on crisis is when it’s most important to have confidence in the honesty and integrity of the prime minister?
  5. If true that Russia have brought out the chemical agents then it changes the calculation for me significantly. I thought we were broadly on the right track so far, send weapons and give the Ukrainians the ability to defend their country and make the cost so high that popular opinion would shift in Russia against Putin and ideally he's be ousted or possibly assassinated by his own commanders. If they've started using gas etc then there's no way to inflict the kind of losses on Russia that would make that strategy successful and we need to shift to something else.
  6. That’s never happened. There’s always been enough for those taking dividend, including the owner to pay themselves 6 figures
  7. Well at said company I was offered the opportunity as a fellow director to be paid in dividend and I said no…it’s inherently unfair on those in managing. So no don’t assume. Perhaps I should just put my morality aside in favour of making a little more money at the expense of everyone else but alas I was raised in a different way.
  8. Thing is that this isn’t uncommon. I’m well aware that my boss and other directors of the company I work for earn minimum wage and pay themselves in dividends. Every company is at it and when I once quizzed a business owner friend on the morality of it all he was like “well I’m doing nothing illegal and if you could do it you definitely would” I think it’s a Tory thing to just believe everyone’s moral compass is as rotten as your own to sleep better at night.
  9. Someone on my Facebook made such a good point today that I'm definitely stealing it as my own. Seems Akshata Murty is prepared to pay UK tax to support her husband’s career prospects but wasn’t prepared to pay it to support our overstretched NHS, our overworked teachers or those for whom the cost of living crisis means heating or eating.
  10. Wasn't there also a real backlash against the Bisexual people from those in the Gay community? Like those were the people who couldn't make up their minds and were closet gay. Maybe a degree of ignorance/intolerance is just something that's in human nature regardless or race, creed or orientation.
  11. Tbf the people I've seen who are most concerned by that are (biological) women. I'm not sure I've ever read of an instance of someone self-identify using a womens rest room to be a pervert. I think that it's just an extension of the lazy and completely incorrect trope that gays are obviously dangerous and predatory. Still - If we're going down the road of "do what you want as long as you aren't hurting anybody" which is always a great mantra for anything in life - are (biological) women feeling uncomfortable in their own traditional spaces getting hurt? Personally as neither a trans woman nor a biological one, I'm not sure I'm qualified to have any say in who uses womens loos.
  12. I still feel they'll pull a couple of results from no where and manage to get out of it. People bring up their fixtures but Leicester (like us with Burnley) really don't have anything to play for. Arsenal on the final day it could be that Arsenal have nothing to play for. I have a sneaking suspicion they might get something from Man Utd this weekend. If the worst does happen to Everton it'll be a double edged sword - like when we went down, they'll lose some good players, alot of very bad ones and get a chance to rebuild. Provided the owners don't go into meltdown and not reinvest the parachute money or give it to a hack like Lampard who'll blow it on dross they'll have a good chance of bouncing back up. I quite enjoyed the Championship when we went down and you look at what we achieved to get promoted with our 10 game winning run - that can't happen in the Premier League for a team like Villa. It was also nice being the big fish in that division - teams coming to Villa Park and raising their game because they wanted to beat the giants of the division.
  13. The way we do massive infrastructure projects in this country is truly broken. We seem to pick the cheapest design pitched the the dodgiest people you've ever seen. Then we bemoan the fact they lied about the cost, time it would take to deliver in order to win the tender, and that it's substandard quality. I don't understand why they don't include punishment clauses in these contracts that say that if it's overbudget the construcution company should pay the extra and fines for every month it's over time.
  14. Oh man that’s so devastating for his young family. Waited years to see the foos and finally got tickets for villa park. Not sure I want to go now, if they somehow manage to continue. He was so integral to the band.
  15. A century of state sponsored brainwashing telling the people that the west is evil should explain it.
  16. Does that mean he never would though? Don't get me wrong I don't think it's time for the people of poland to be putting down sandbags and digging bomb shelters but certainly it's something governments are currently wargaming and when you're putting percertange likelihood on a variety of scenarios that's certainly more likely than it was 12 months ago. Besides, there's also the possibility of miscalculation. It doesn't even need to be intentional.
  17. Remember in the days and weeks before the Russians went into Ukraine and the majority of the people said that "they'd seen it all before" and "it wouldn't actually happen". It's foolish to believe it couldn't happen. We need to be prepared for the possibility that Putin isn't thinking rationally like you and me.
  18. You do feel that they're ripe to pick up a couple of wins from no where. They do have some good attacking players that should be able to make something click at some point. Defence is pure championship trash though. Coleman, Holgate and Keane are just awful. They're massively missing Yerry Mina.
  19. Zelenskyy might not be long for this world but what an impact he’s had. Expecting to hear the news any day now that he’s been taken out. What happens to the Ukrainian will to fight if he’s no longer around?
  20. How much should the west let him get away with then? At some point a line must be drawn. It might not be Ukraine and we should do all we can short of war to prevent one but we have to respect the Russians. Constant talk of the doom of us all sounds a bit more like fear of them.
  21. I'd say it's a key milestone in pretty much anyones life when you realise your parent's aren't model human beings.
  22. Zelensky won’t have any say in any of this. Russia haven’t gone this far not to change regime. If there’s to be a bargain then the number one requirement now will be for zelensky to go and for “free and fair” elections to take place, of course under the watchful eye of the Russian “peacekeepers”.
  23. Totally. If you invested there you knew the risks and you’re probably part of the problem anyway… I’d bet there’s more than a few MPs and high net wealth uk individuals involved though. I bet they also donate heavily to our political parties.
  24. It’s what the banks use to transfer money between themselves. It effectively cuts them off from international capital markets. It could in theory collapse their banking system, currency. Basically wreck them as an economy very quickly. It could also hurt us and other countries because if you have investments or any money in Russia you can basically say goodbye to that.
