  1. Need to keep an eye on #11, particularly from set pieces. That unit could easily put them a couple of goals up if we have a repeat of that poor defending. I think the matchup between him and Mings has been decent so far and will continue for the rest of the game
  2. What a set piece goal from Salernitana - We could learn a lot from that set piece, both offensively and defensively
  3. Salernitana don't look like a bad outfit tbh. This should be a good test for us, although not quite as good as Sevilla would have been
  4. Shame they won yesterday. As our pre season game was cancelled, I went up to Meadowhall in Sheffield for the first time since I finished uni there 3 years ago and saw a lot of sheffield united fans milling around in there. Left at about 8 and got home with 15 to go, so was hoping to see the blades had put them too the sword.
  5. Hoping we see a potent combination of Ings + Watkins up top today!
  6. I think this guy will be one of the most likeable in the squad and amongst the staff for sure!
  7. Sky reminding us of Grealish's move on comms, words removed
  8. When was the last time we scored from a direct freekick, it must have been eons ago tbh!? With Young and Bailey in the squad, we will have these opportunities to capitalise for a change, especially late in the game when Young is subbed on (assuming he dosen't start). Got a feeling we will get a few this year tbh.
  9. Will end up at West Ham or Newcastle on last day of the window. Permanent at the former, loan at the latter.
  10. Great to see a game is being played after all, annoying that the powers that be mean its behind closed doors. The main thing is that the lads get a run out and a proper match prior to the Watford game. Looking forward to seeing the lads and hopefully we get to see Ings, Watkins and Buendia in the same team
  11. Bournemouth had the opportunity to go 2-0 up earlier and obviously playing the better stuff, ball on the ground. However they are looking weak from corners and imo that is not a foul on the goalie, looks way too soft. One of those ones you want given in your favour as a fan, and hate if the opposition gets it. Still think Bournemouth will go on to win it.
  12. Fancy Bournemouth to make a winning start to their campaign tonight. Not sure about Ismael's tactics, it was an interesting experiment at Barnsley last year and I wanted them or Brentford to get into the premier league personally, as it would have been a different promotion than usual. I do think he will come undone a bit this season.
  13. on my email it says they expire 30/09/2021. You can definitely use them to buy matchday tickets, yeah
  14. Hopefully scores a hatful and comes back in time for pre season next year raring to go
  15. Happy with JWP if we can get him, if it came down to us signing one or the other though I would rather get Cantwell in. Both would be great and cap off a really decent transfer window for us.
  16. The best way to do it is to go to games that are far away. The ones I did a few years back to build up the history were Southampton, Newcastle, Sunderland, QPR, Cardiff, Reading, Everton etc. If you can make midweek games then those are usually good ones to target and sometimes go on general sale. Its much easier once you have 2/3 games under your belt as you could get tickets most of the time back then (when we were treading water under lambert). one year i couldnt afford the season ticket though and lost all that history, so will be building it back up again from this season too. Just keep an eye out and make sure you are online when your category opens up for the games that are geographically far and you will likely have some luck
  17. That is a proper compilation so excited to see him in our colours
  18. Level-headed, mature and illuminating take provided by the CEO in his video message. We are genuinely really lucky to have people like him at the top of the club, it genuinely is a huge U-turn from just a few years ago. I do think we will be trying to make a couple of signings yet. Understandably the big boss didn't want to say anything in case we don't pull them off. They will come out of nowhere like the Ings thing.
  19. glad he's gone and its over now. Time to stop looking back and look forward to what can be achieved by the lads who want to be here. Buzzing for first game of the season
  20. Been Binge watching Gotham recently, on season 4 out of a total of 5 atm. Pretty good and entertainng series to watch on Netflix with a good cast. Passing the time away until 1 September when I start a grad job. Been told to watch Sons of Anarchy after that.
  21. Solid 2-0 Villa win for me, Ings at the double
  22. Fantastic interview with the new signing. Very calm, humble, understated and looking forward to cracking on with things it seems. Really refreshing to see and will be such a calming influence on the youngsters who will no doubt look up to him. If the young strikers in the youth team can achieve even half the success he has done in his career to date, then they will have done very well in the professional game.
  23. i'm not sure tbh, would make sense though. I think back in the day if they lived out of the area they were hosted by local families, but quite a lot of these lads are from the midlands and west broms academy. However many of them are probably under 17 and don't have driving licences, so would make sense that they are ferried to and from home
  24. haha lol that would be interesting! out of likes otherwise I would give you one, the laughing face one....would be interesting if we do sign any of the players from phoenix academy in due course though. perhaps we discover a gem when the youngsters play them
