  1. Villa twitter account a bit slow with the teamsheet today!
  2. Usually with the club its always 1 ticket per client reference. So if you had 8 client reference numbers/accounts, then you would probably be able to purchase 8 tickets. The key thing is that, unless its on general sale, they have to be assigned to someone.
  3. You have a point for sure. But there seem to be constant links to the Hammers and he definitely seems like a "west ham" signing. Don't forget that Moyes gave him his debut in 2011 and seems to speak highly of him. Could see it myself for the right price of course.
  4. Right decision for me. I thought it may have been a choice between Martinez and Mings, but it makes sense that Mings and John Mcginn are Captain and Vice Captain respectively, as they have been here longer and been important parts of the team for the last few years. I was surprised at Mcginn being Vice Captain however, as I thought it would have been Martinez. But i'm happy with that and the squad will be too
  5. I expect to see Leeds get a 1-0 win or something crazy. They seem like a shithouse type of team haha
  6. Our team is going to surprise and impress us today. Most of my non supporting villa friends and family think we will do really well this year, and certainly seem more optimistic than a lot of our fan base. They are clearly seeing, objectively, a solid team with an impressive behind the scenes set up and decent management. They didnt really give us much of a chance since we've been back in the premier league, but the signings so far this summer have certainly made people sit up and take notice. I think that we will get a comprehensive win today, and the site will be a lot more optimistic at 5pm today
  7. Fair play to the bees, they've been by far the better team today. Hopefully our set piece coach, and Dean, who is in attendance tonight, take a look at our set pieces and realise we can do serious damage via long throw ins. We've never been adventurous with those kinds of tactics, but they can clearly create goals, so I hope going forward that is something we take not of and utilise.
  8. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/13/aston-villa-ashley-young-i-think-we-can-definitely-reach-europe-grealish-inter Good interview with the esteemed ASHLEY YOUNG
  9. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/13/aston-villa-ashley-young-i-think-we-can-definitely-reach-europe-grealish-inter We should definitely be aiming for Europe, as the esteemed ASHLEY YOUNG believes we can
  10. Yes terrible research, like they havent watched us at all since we've been promoted!
  11. We will win this one I think. Check out this match preview from The Guardian, they are so out of touch with Villa its unreal! this won't be how we line up on saturday! Also they state that Ashley Young is "unthreatening"!? have they seen this guy!? watch him bang in a freekick or get a goal from open play. I think they have underestimated him and assume he is a spent force, how wrong they are. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/13/watford-aston-villa-match-preview-premier-league
  12. True, the article did mention he was holding offers. He could do an uncle albert and go the QPR route, that would be a good team for him.
  13. Fantastic interview. If i'm honest, I've been keeping an eye out for his name on the BBC Football Transfers webpage. seems crazy to me that no one has snapped him up yet as hes pretty much ever present, cheap and always puts in 100% effort. Would be great for a newly promoted team on a budget as backup or for a championship team looking to mount a promotion challenge. He will get so many assists in the championship
  14. Seemed like a great guy to have around, especially in that video Villa did following Emi B around on his first day. I saw him walking down Witton Lane toward the North Stand entrance shortly after buying a season ticket in person in Summer 2019 and he was in his training gear, he seemed like a proper old school coach out on the field with the players which is always good to see. I think he has just made a personal decision and doubt there is any animosity behind the scenes. Not ideal this close to the season but I'm sure we will be fine. Good luck to him!
  15. Well we have to be aiming for 9 points minimum, which most of us would expect from the first 3 games out of those 5. Obviously, its football and never works out like that (usually). We should certainly be aiming for 10-12 points realistically.
  16. Reckon we will play Stoke or Sheffield United.
  17. I think Young will start against the Hornets. Dean Smith knows the value of having an experienced head in the starting line up and I think for the first game of the season, which most of us expect to win, he will want someone out there calming things down and with a bit of know how. Plus we will want to capitalise on any set pieces. In addition, his performance yesterday justifies the start imo, hourihane should have buried his cross and he is very fit so would have no problem keeping up with things. I think we will see JPB at some point. The Doucoure link is interesting aswell, 15 million euros is nothing really and his stats certainly seemed to look good. The small clip someone linked from twitter also shows a dynamic player. Either get him, anguissa or sarr and i'll be happy lol
  18. Anguissa would be an astute signing for us. 25 so still quite young but at the same time, pretty experienced, and crucially experienced in the prem aswell. Could develop well here and would add some much needed physicality and presence to our midfield. Reckon there could be some truth in this one.
  19. Just saw that Cov got a last minute winner against Forest, 96th minute. Wonder if they will struggle again or be midtable. I can't see them being a team challenging for promotion, but they do seem capable of pulling the odd result out of the bag
  20. Said before today's game against Salernitana that he should be thrown in against Watford at some point, and I stand by that today. Was in a great position to receive the Mcginn key pass and did well to get it into the mixer. Really do think he is the type that can make an impact in games. Looks like a strong guy aswell who can hold his own on that side of the pitch
  21. Salernitana will hold their own in Serie A this season, definitely not as bad as I thought they might be. Overall I think this has been a good test for us and it has demonstrated that Young must start and that Ings is going to do well for us this year. JPB will also play the Ramsey role this year and get a few assists and maybe some goals. Should be a good season
