  1. Archer looks like one of the best finishers at the club tbh
  2. we need Carney to create a goal for his brother....come on Smith, you know you want to see it
  3. Anyone seen the Norwich + Bournemouth score? Norwich 6 up in 87th minute, tough day at the office for ex villan Nyland!
  4. A classic El Ghazi backpost from open play which we haven't seen for a while. He;s going to get more than 10 this season isnt he! loving the shithousery from him though, quality
  5. Zanzala looks like a cheap, physical beast. could see him playing football further up the leagues, he is a battler and capable of bullying a CB
  6. nice jibe at the Barrow boo boys, I think thats why he did that cheeky chip, good on him
  7. El Ghazi's confidence must be sky high right now. Hopefully he gets a 3rd goal of the season against Brentford. I'll take another pen!
  8. great composed finish by Archer, doing the basics right by following the play and getting in the box, can't ask for much more. Is he a poacher type of striker?
  9. I think its barrow, if its our fans then that is very poor form indeed. I know he had a shocker against Watford and Sarr, but he was probably the most improved player last season. I think its barrow though
  10. yeah, i cant figure out why either. did his dad play for barrows rivals or something?
  11. why are they all booing matt targett when he gets the ball lmao?!
  12. Perhaps Wesley has got a move in the pipeline and Smith brought him on for the final few minutes as a type of farewell appearance. IIRC he gave some fans near the tunnel his match shirt when leaving the pitch. Shame that we never got to see him improve, he was certainly getting better prior to the injury. Or perhaps i'm overthinking it!
  13. Nice line up, wonder if smith will throw on the ramsey and chukuwumeka brothers so that they are all on the pitch at once at some point in the game! No Wesley, is this a good or bad thing? Maybe he is off, or Smith has told him he sees him as part of the first team setup and dosent want him to play as he will play against Brentford? interesting one nonetheless. Great to see Fred get a run out!
  14. Antonio is a literal goal machine and a very hard worker, which you cannot underestimate. He will need to be managed though, as he has a tendency to break down. I suppose they could play Bowen or Benrahma down the middle, but they should think about the Europa League and try and get some cover in. It dosen't have to be a 40 mil pound player, but someone that can stick the ball in the back of the net. Surprised he is their top scorer, however I guess that only counts the premier league era, but thats still 30 or so seasons....Another reason I like Antonio is because he missed that sitter against us on the final day of the 19/20 season which would have relegated us had it flown in.

  16. yep, made 39 appearances for them from 1991-1992 apparently. seems to have been very much a journeyman footballer with a list of clubs on his wiki page. Was also saying in the interview that its a free hit for them and a money spinner but they will be looking to give a decent game to whatever team is played by villa.
  17. looks like a real prospect and will probably step up for spurs in the way which Wanyama, Sissoko and Ndombele, all with the big prices, failed to do. I hope we decide to go after Doucoure
  18. Looking forward to his return, we could really do with a bit of an unknown quantity (in this league) at least. Seems like the type of player who could become a bit of a fan favourite with his surging runs from deep.
  19. Think he will score tonight, feel this is a good game to build fitness and confidence. I believe he can contribute this season. The coaching staff think highly of him and see him as part of their plans. We do need him to get some of the petulance out of him though, and get him to use his physicality to his advantage. Games like tonight, you will need to use those attributes. Perfect game to throw him into.
  20. Barrow manager about to appear on sky sports talking about tonight's game. will be interesting to hear his thoughts
  21. I've been impressed with Ramsey in the last 2 games, much better than anything shown by him last season and pre season. So I think him, JPB, Chukwumeka should start. Maybe they could through in Caleb too? We should also have a couple of experienced heads in there to make sure everything is settled. Good opportunity for Keinan and Wes to get some minutes under their belt aswell. Lets continue the winning run so we have even more momentum going into the second home game of the season on saturday UTV
  22. Didn't bother with one myself and didn't see anybody around me in T5 North Stand with a mask on. Saw a couple of people pre and post game around the stadium with one on though, they seemed to be taking everthing quite seriously as most members of the family were wearing one.
  23. Obviously won't be useful for you now, but if its helpful for you next time, or anyone else reading, then what i usually do is go to the witton arms for a few pints. Even if you spend an hour there, the platform at Witton station is then much quieter and you can easily get a seat and get the connecting train from new street on to your destination. I hate rushing back to new street and queing up at witton station at the end of the game and would rather watch the evening kick off and have a few beers, but even if you go for 1 or 2 and watch the first half of the evening kick off or something, everything is much more convenient 45 mins - 1 hour post match in my experience.
  24. I suppose the only slightly disappointing thing was loads of people leaving as Neil Diamond rang out through the tannoy. They then played Jeff Beck to a largely empty stand/stadium. Hi Ho Silver Lining should always be played first is the lesson there i'm guessing
