  1. Anything above £6m and we should prepare the laughing Thunderbirds Gif.
  2. That may well be the Birmingham Mail's first scoop in 6 years. Beale is very likely paid very handsomely as a number two, probably more handsomely that Blackburn or QPR would be able to pay their manager positions. I guess it is whether Beale fancies himself as a manager or not. And those two clubs aren't exactly going to be pulling up trees next season.
  3. Couldn’t give a toss as long as we finish in the top 7 next season.
  4. I think this will be the signing that we are perhaps least excited by, because he’s a known quantity, but on reflection will see as the most important come end of next season.
  5. Did okay. He’s not Martinez, but we don’t need him to be.
  6. Can forgive the over-aggression when he works hard and creates like he does. Genuinely think he’s a special talent.
  7. Brilliant goalkeeper. Lest we forget some of predecessors.
  8. Ironic that that unbelievable block may give Leeds some hope of staying up. The same Leeds who gave him pelters for 90min when we played them.
  9. Hugely encouraging that he took the 70% pay cut. He could easily have taken much more money at another club - Newcastle, America or the Middle East - but wanted to remain here. I really hope having his future settled brings out a masterclass performance today.
  10. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. A bit like Luc Nilis, albeit a less talented version.
  11. They are both feet in now. The Las Vegas project means there is no way back, not for the foreseeable. I think this summer will be unprecedented in terms of player investment
  12. To sell for less than £55m is nonsensical to me. He’s not perfect and not lethal enough in front of goal, but his energy is excellent and his best years are a couple of years away yet.
  13. Excellent. Transfer will unlock other doors for us. Very clever business.
  14. Unleash Coutinho and Buendia together. Eventually it will work.
  15. This might well be part of the behind the scenes plan for him. A very good thought.
  16. The Brazilians. Great bunch of lads.
  17. Serious concerns about this man’s ability to grow us as a club.
  18. Doesn’t matter. He’ll be playing left wing/forward next year like 50% of all our previous 10 signings.
  19. Worryingly headed straight down the tunnel at full time. Did not even go to the fans. He’s understandably upset at the state of things. he was impressive yesterday
  20. Very tidy performance. Best Villa player today.
  21. I think Coutinho will end up staying. Call me naive but I genuinely don’t think it’ll be a financial situation. He’s a world class player but fragile mentally, we have got him back to a level he’s not seen for 4/5 years.
  22. if he gets us into the top 6 next year, he can wear a tee-shirt with the face of Christophe Dugarry on it for his post game interviews for all I care.
  23. I do love the stories in todays broadsheets that Newcastle will not be spending obscene money. - £60ml was the quoted budget. Peanuts compared to our first spend in the PL under NWSE. Geordie tears are sweet, I do expect we will go big this summer. The hardest thing about that is the emotional attachment we have to some of those players who have done great by us, but not good enough for the next level. Targett probably the first example - expect Luiz and Mings/Konsa to fall in this category over the next 18 months
  24. 100% and I think an early deal helps attract other top talent for later in the window
