Genuinely think Brazil ‘70 would be struggling for goals under Gerrard’s leadership. He would say he ‘needs more for Pele and Jairzinho’.

Can see the new badge previews coming out tomorrow in some attempt to distract from failings on the pitch.

Give it to Dwight Yorke for a fortnight.

I’m so sorry Dean Smith. This clown should never ever manage in the premier league again.
-
seems there has been a bit of a run on Gerrard to be sacked next at the bookmakers today. 16/1 into 4/1. Probably speculative, but interesting

Pre match thread (El Sackico?)

I get a similar feeling about tonight to how I felt when we played Preston under Bruce. I think tonight is make or break for Gerrard and our season - win and we go top half and potentially kick on, lose and things look more desperate and the club will need to take action. -
Would never want the club to lose, but it would certainly be softened by the thought of Gerrard being sacked if that was the case.

He is undoing all the great work Smith did. We are going nowhere.

I was at the Exeter MK Dons game too, and MK were awful. He must be injured because there is no hope if he can’t get in that squad atm.

It does. I think when you break the numbers down £100m will probably be paid back within 6/7 seasons.

Apologies for replying to a post 2 pages back - but this is the really massive take away for me. The potential for the club to maximise revenues from match day doesn’t really come from 7000 extra bums on seats, but an extra 3000 corporates is big time. I am staggered at the size of the rebuild, this is a massive investment.

Kanye don’t know who he’s dealing with.

I’m not convinced he’s the man to take us forward, but credit where credit is due. He’s bought some time with yesterdays performance and result,

Interesting that Gerrard did not make any comments on the new signings on the OS today. Very rare for the manager to not make comments on new players.
-
This is my take too really. To go from having £30m to spend on Sarr to suddenly spending £12m on Dendoncker and a loan for Bednarek doesn’t scream full backing.

I think this is what it is for me. He says a lot of cliche things in the media about technique, standards and ‘carry’. But the reality is that there is no identity or structure to the team. It’s a different set up every game, and we can all see the faults.
-
The really annoying thing is you can just see him getting another job in the premier in the future at a Palace, Southampton etc. and despite his abject was he will take points off us. Because we will be made out to be the bad guys.
-
Got the feeling of a game we will lose 5-0 or we will grab a shocking 1-0 winner in the 81st minute.
-
I guess the real measure of the confidence in the manager will come from the level of spending over the next couple of days. They we’re allegedly prepared to spend £24m on Sarr a week or so ago, so my twisted logic suggests a spend under £30m would not signal strong confidence. I would love for us to break our transfer record here, but under the circumstances I would also be nervous about us doing so.
