  1. We'd be lucky to get 25m for those fringe players and Grealish combined. Some of them we won't even be able to unload on free transfers.
  2. This sounds like it could have written by Randy Lerner himself. Not that cutbacks are completely avoidable but it sounds like we'll be going at them pretty hard to me. I don't think that we'll putting together a squad that looks capable of challenging for promotion next season, so unless we appoint a manager that can get great results from average players my expectation is mid-table at best. On the bright side, I enjoy the Championship much more than the Premier League, but the longer we are in this division the harder it becomes to return to Premier League riches.
  3. Not bad, but aren't you allowed 12 subs at the WC?
  4. Mellberg at RB and Laursen with God in the center?
  5. I'm no fan of Bruce but he absolutely deserves huge credit for sorting out what was a toxic atmosphere and the clubs no.1 problem. If he leaves having only achieved that he'll have more than earned his pay and have been a successful appointment. I honestly thought the toxicity at the club would see us do a Sunderland but he has turned it around.
  6. "Shower in a can" as it was called back at uni.
  7. You can book a player before and after the game, so I'm sure you can book one during the penalty shootout. Haven't seen any video, but to book a keep for straying of his line during a shootout would be crazy, unless the keeper was doing it repeatedly / with the intention of putting of the penalty taker knowing the kick would have to be retaken. I've no idea if that was the case here.
  8. Great on Championship Manager 01/02. Not so much in real life.
  9. Got up at 3:45 am to watch that. Of course it was 0 0. Thought Adomah was excellent tonight, was often the only outlet but consistently kept possession which stopped us getting sucked too deep and created a couple of good chances with low crosses for Grabban and Hourihane. Job done and we looked comfortable throughout, Fulham will be a tougher test but we are plenty good enough if we get it right.
  10. I can't believe there is now a team in the world I hate more than SHA.
  11. At Seoul marathon I got stuck in the slowest wave because of my only previous marathon was a 4 hour and 43 minute disaster. I spent the first 5km zigzagging all over the place, on the pavements, of the course, just trying to get through. Might have cracked the 3:30 mark if I'd started in a faster wave where most of the runners were running a similar pace.
  12. That's hilarious. Are waves not related to your anticipated time at all? Sounds fun, hope it is!
  13. When you gotta spit you gotta spit. I just try to wait until no one is watching.
  14. Not in Brum but got a 10km in Seoul the following weekend. First 10k race since I first started running years ago, hoping to get under 40 mins but that may prove too ambitious. Good luck in Birmingham, hope you smash it!
  15. I had that Marseille shirt. I think it was probably the last football I bought.
  16. They all look the same anyway. Paris Baguette, Angle-in-Us, CU and a couple of high rises, the Korean town starter kit. Errr, on topic.... we should sign some players this summer.
  17. I suspected it probably wasn't his case, being this lazy is a pretty special quality.
  18. Jecheon in Chungbuk province. Sleepy little town.
  19. I'd be wary of bringing in anyone from Sunderland. We spent ages trying to rid our club of the same negativity that must be effecting everyone at Sunderland.
  20. I've been living and working in Korea for 7 months. I know "hello", "thank you" and "beer". Learning a language takes effort (I obviously haven't made any) so it's perfectly possible that he spent two years in Manchester without learning anything. I've no idea if that is the case for him, chances are he learnt something, but no guarantees.
  21. Where are you running? Great to see wildlife on the trail but it can be very scary, especially when there are no other people around. I get chased by a lot of dogs, but that happens more on the roads than the trails.
  22. I'm trying to make the switch from roads to trails, so trying to ignore my pace but it's an ingrained habit. I'm getting better but I can't help checking it. When I'm on the road it's still all about pace and distance covered. I am really enjoying the nature on the trails but those hills are hard work.
  23. That was my question also. A quick google suggested it's a fashion brand for people who look like they should be in prison.
