I don't think he was complaining, I think he was answering the people questioning him about why Costa didn't start. People accused him of overlooking Schalke, he's just clarifying that the real reason is that Costa isn't currently fit enough to start that often.

He'd certainly be the longest serving Villa manager in my lifetime. IIRC a Villa manager hasn't surpassed 4 years for a very long time. Ron Saunders was the last. Edit - Looking at the Wiki for Villa managers, seeing out the next 4 years would put him 3rd all time behind Saunders and George Ramsay. At that point he'd be ~2 years behind Saunders and and ~36 years behind Ramsay.

Football club social media account in 'wishing fans a good day' conspiracy. No conspiracy just how many times have they said this recently? Once a week at the most. Nah I see a "have a great day" from Villa almost every time I check my... feed (if that's what it's called)(soz doz). It's not a sign.

While I'm happy it's been sorted, I'm pretty surprised it's a 4 year deal. That makes me feel like we're not even for sale any more.

While I agree it does seem like a bit of a risk, to be fair to Hutton he's been in great form for Scotland for ages. I only saw him a few times for Bolton but he looked reasonable for them too. It's only been his first season here where he looked naff. Pretty much our entire team (many of whom had finished 6th) looked naff that season though.

That time frame sounds a bit optimistic. You could always leave the game early as we'll probably be 4 or 5 goals ahead by half time. Edit - Beaten to the joke.

Yeah that was nice to see. I loved the confidence he had in his own guard, locking the body triangle as he was taken down.

I disagree. It's not serious foul play or violent conduct IMO. He just tripped him over, it happens all the time. It was definitely a booking though.

How have you arrived at this success rate? What is the benchmark for success? Is value for money success or just established first team players?

If we tail off like Newcastle did a few years ago and finish 5th I'd probably settle for that.

At first glance that seems like he's played way better for us but thinking about it, 4 wins in 12 for Fulham means he averaged at least a point game. They finished with 32 points which means they got at most 20 points from all of the rest of their games. Why the **** did they loan him out then?
