  1. If he wants to not play under arguably the best Premier League midfielder ever and learn a thing or two from the best then the kid is stupid. I hope he will stay but his agent needs to shut his gob!
  2. Pressing and intensity already increased. Some players looked technically better too. Lovely passing from the likes of McGinn... Very good start to his Villa career today.
  3. I didn't want him to go but with five defeats in a row the writing was on the wall. I'm feeling very upset but ultimately it is probably the right time for a change and a fresh start but he can hold his head up high and said he did his best and he did himself and his family proud. I wish him all the best.

  5. Thank goodness he's not on our books permanently.
  6. Davis should just stick to playing Fifa.
  7. Better than Bosnich for me, any day. Just the fact that he practically won the Copa America for Argentina as well shows that he is probably the best keeper in the world right now. Very, very lucky to have him and for such a small comparative fee.
  8. Tuanzebe shouldn't retain his place now - Hause was probably our best defender overall apart from the unlucky decision for the penalty. He is perfect for the formation we play and will always win everything in the air. Ronaldo was practically invisible today and a lot of that is down to Hause.
  9. He's already done more than Davis in his limited opportunities. He is a decent third choice striker in my opinion.
  10. Let's put it this way - I don't think Craig Butler has had any media training!
  11. Bailey made the difference really, he was absolutely brilliant for the 20 or so minutes he was on the pitch and we looked a much better side with him there.
  12. He's changed his name to Philip Marshall to make him more accessible to Brexit Britain
  13. Honestly didn't think he was a big enough name to start tonight but he's proved me wrong. Well done.
  14. I'd rather have the other Chuckle brother up top than Archer personally.
  15. Good, solid win even with a load of injuries. We'll be better with Watkins and Bailey in the team and the likes of Traore to bring off the bench rather than Wesley.
  16. Cash has got a bigger bald spot than me and I'm 41 today for god's sake! Makes me feel a little better about myself

Wasn't he a winger at Forest? If so then for a former winger he hasn't contributed that much to our attack since we've had him.
  18. Yeah, I edited it as soon as I realised
  19. Second time that he's scored our first goal of the campaign. Probably won't get many more though.
  20. Targett looks lost without his mate on the left wing.
  21. I'd make him captain over Mings, he won't miss as many games for a start.
  22. Realistically the easiest tie we could probably get on paper. Let's hope we don't bottle it.
  23. To increase the number of Asian fans the solution is simple - we need Asian players, as simple as that. A local hero, if you will. The overwhelming majority of the Asian population is Muslim, although there are no homegrown role models for Muslim kids to look up to at Villa. Having spent around 37 years of my life growing up and living in Birmingham I can speak from experience. In my opinion, there is little point in looking in abroad, especially in India because although the talent pool is probably large, football is almost a non-entity in that country. Scouts would be better advised to spend more time in inner city areas and scouting more local lads. You could say that Asian parents didn't care much about football 20 years ago and that is certainly the case but my generation that have kids who in could potentially be their late teens, early 20s now will be more into football and would be more inclined to allow their kids to play and develop in an academy. Although I don't live in Birmingham any more, I still visit occasionally and the conversation with my friends occasionally centres around players to look out for in academies at the clubs they support. There are very rarely any Asian names mentioned, which is a shame. Does it sound crass to blame it on racism? Maybe but it is there.
  24. I hope we've made a cheicky bid for this guy!
