  1. Gregg in last 1874 giving a lot of credit to Gerrard still (probably overweighting his influence in signings). Baffling.
  2. Might we see/hear you on For the Love of Paul McGrath?
  3. Gregg has apparently been promoted and writing more about Liverpool. But will still dip in on us from time to time. But I'm very pleased, dislike his condescending attitude towards the club and lacks insight beyond all of those on VT know.
  4. He got injured not long after signing and doubt he was match fit often. Chelsea cup game I was at, he broke down but was MOTM to that point.
  5. Still a Championship club picking him up there. Not bad going. For a short while i thought he'd go further than Jack who was seemingly well on the road to pissing it all up the wall.

Almost all football salaries are overstated in the media. Used to know a couple of Baggies players years ago. One was in a tabloid story and salary amount was probably double reality (and that's when £10k p/w was a good salary, carrier bags were tight though)
  7. It's still sodding Fanatics manufacturing and distributing courtesy of Uncle Keith... You can't even buy our kit from Castore themselves. Edit: Club Extended https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2022/june/08/villa-extend-fanatics-partnership/
  8. Nothing. And it wasn't a complaint. If its a useful and enjoyable facility it'll succeed and that's all the better. If I'm at a match during the six nations, I'd be happier going into that space than the Holte Suite which was generally where I went.
  9. Sorry this was my misreading of your sentence and meaning. I thought you were saying we should say Aston Villa are... Which wouldn't be right. Unveils is right, or not. Oh, now I'm confused!
  10. Food and drinks venue, somewhere to watch the 530KO/The Six Nations I imagine. Everything will be geared to getting more money from people in there.
  11. Correctly. Aston Villa is a legal entity in this sentence not a collective.
  12. They'd be lucky. 80%... His reputation is absolute toilet.
  13. Absolutely love Ons Jabeur... I'm hoping for a victory for her.
  14. Not to mention writing 'Kosovo is the heart of Serbia' on a lens this year. His Dad hanging out with Putin fans in Australia... Kinda strikes me as a clearing in the woods. On tennis court, very very good. But not someone that I've ever felt any warmth to.
  15. Inheritance isn't a big societal good so taxing it makes more sense than taxing income. Believe wealth in the UK is more genetically correlated than height. Which is absolutely mad.
  16. Acceleration vs pure pace, the former wins out
  17. Is that a good idea when your body is done?

We have a real problem with overpaying peripheral squad players. Imagine Hause on similar. Scary to think Dendoncker amongst our highest earners, he wasn't signed as a starter.
  19. Unless they strengthen significantly more they're still lacking depth all over the pitch. I think in the medium term they're likely to be man city (save for proper regulation) - but for now they're coached by Eddie Howe regularly field Burn, Longstaff and Anthony Gordon. They're not amongst the best squads in the league.
  20. I think its quite feasible that we finish above them this season. I don't think they're out of sight by a long shot...
  21. No point, they won't pay for us to recoup his fee and he's also on a fair wedge here. Given where Wolves are now shopping maybe a return trip?
  22. Is that Todd Boely... Profit please
  23. Can't or won't? We're not a charity. If its a loan for the final year of the contract the fee should be higher than a transfer; they should go for it as they can then extend his stay for nothing and compete on what others offer him.

Also he ain't very good. Wish people would pay cash for our cast offs
  25. Think we booked a small profit vs purchase price. But when we bought him he was unproven in the Premier League. When we sold him he'd been player of the season and was coming into his prime. And of course, Mings lacked a body of work at Premier League level. Marv, theoretically we should break even on (we won't). On basis that he is a known quantity in the league (more challenging than Belgian Pro League). We won't though.
