  1. Until every time they play away there is prominent fan signage pointing out human rights abuses yes... Make every match involving them a protest. That may. Make them think, although clearly the cameras would avoid showing anything.
  2. You're forgetting El Ghazi who was the best penalty taker in the league. Ice in the veins. Plenty of strikers aren't great at them, weirdly.
  3. Fabinho at least 2 yellows. Henderson with the clearest professional foul I've seen. Co commentator sent me potty with his claim for a red for Mings. Gakpo initiated contact, at no point is Ty's foot going in his direction. Ollie, oh dear. He ain't no Anwar.

    Jed Steer

https://theathletic.com/4530863/2023/05/18/jed-steer-aston-villa-contract/?source=emp_shared_article If Gregg is to believed (and on this case I think he's likely on the money), Jed's time at Villa is coming to a close. Ten years, fantastic memories from that promotion run. Really sad that his injuries prevented him olaying much since we came up, he'd have been a much more capable second choice if available.

    Arsenal

Man City have spent roughly twice net what Arsenal have in the past decade, only teams with comparative spending are Utd/Chelsea (basket cases). Their wage bill is significantly higher too (near double - and that's only what goes through the books) - Pep plays on easy mode, Barca, Bayern and City the best squad on arrival and departure, expectation being another league and an ECL every 2-3 years. Liverpool's title and European success is all the more impressive given that their net spend is comparative pittance. Give Arteta, Klopp, Unai or any number of other good coaches City and they too would win the league at a canter. As we know it comes with an asterisk in any case. He's elite no doubt, but best coach in the world, I'm just not sure. Highest profile, absolutely no doubt. That Arsenal have been able to compete is impressive.

    Arsenal

Difficult to quantify that, minimum expectation for City should be winning the league. ECL given the unlimited resource and 'the best coach in the world', they should've done it already. As he should've at Bayern, but failed. The job Arteta did getting Arsenal to the cusp arguably more impressive than Pep winning domestic trophies with a club that has financially cheated its way to the top.
  7. Leeeeeedz were done dirty. Ayling was clearly fouled in the build up to penalty number 2...
  8. Where did the spurs FK come from there? Defender absolutely smashes through Jhon's back
  9. As comfortable a game as I've ever seen. Just need to get the goals we deserve now.

    Keinan Davis

I reckon they'd have had him if we'd asked for £9-10M rather than £15M. We've been caught on this a number of times, could've got a lot more for El Ghazi in the summer before Gerrard...
  11. As well as being ethically dubious the sponsor logo is going to make the shirt look terrible. Great.
  12. Wolves were poor. We were better. They scored. Shame. Need to create more against sophisticated Dyche ball.
  13. Feel like Bertie whilst not magic (yet) has created some space which Buendia has slipped into a number of times.
  14. Better team. Keep going and the win is there for us.

    Unai Emery

Presumably the managers either side of him at Bayern who won trebles (with fewer years at the club) are above him for starters? Pep is a myth. Unai>Pep

    The Royal Family

Head of Republic campaign group arrested for bringing some placards to Leicester Square. Insane.

    Liverpool

I don't think clubs should be blasting out that boring tune. I certainly wouldn't be singing for it, or standing.

    Douglas Luiz

    With my eyes you're correct.
  19. I watched second half only, we looked more likely. And the midfield battle was okay!

    Unai Emery

In retrospect it was the managerial choice here. We could've set ourselves up to be a modern club but we went for the throw back control freak as manager. When he quit, it turned out he hadn't built anything but his own ego. We needed our Wenger, we got Mike Basset. The club is better set for sustained success now than it ever was under that team. Unai the key component.
  21. Beale ain't all that. He wasn't great with him in 2022.
