    Wouldn't surprise me if he's nowhere to be seen today either.. If this is all true it makes Jhon Durán seem like a basket-case; I kind of liked him but I often wondered if he was suited to Emery's brand of football.

    You are correct, also add to that he seemed to have a few injury niggles which didn't help hitting any consistency. Playing very well now. Wow we've agreed twice recently!

    Interesting to hear Unai Emery talk on Match of the Day about the title, basically said I will have this conversation again if we are around the same position in the league after 32 games. Just imagine if we are there or thereabouts, I think the teams around us might start to doubt themselves. However I do fully expect the cheating Man S***** machine to kick in and win the league but perhaps not. I'm a believer mate!

    Rest a couple for sure but still go fairly strong. I'd like to see Zaniolo, Iroegbunam and Jhon Duràn start the game.

    A win is a win, Villa have needed for many a year to grind out wins. Did just that today. Thought Diaby was much improved but then again he missed a couple of good chances, after their sending off Villa should really have scored a couple to make it comfortable. Kamara back will add some stability and bolster the first eleven, we need him and he'll be fresh.

    Villa will likely play much the same way but I'd prefer to see Cash and Moreno play so that we are more aggressive and direct. Hopefully we win and put some pressure on the top two.

    I just looked up Radamel Falcao, still going in La Liga and still useful at 37 years of age... Now I'm not saying let's sign him but a player of that stature in his final years, some experience of winning titles, trophies etc.

    So much smoke about Douglas Luiz, I think he is such an important player for Villa but we'd be mad to sell him to another PL team. Barca, ok fine but they couldn't afford him. Rice and Caicedo have set the bar. Luiz has £120 million all over him for me! For FFP Villa probably will eventually have to sell him unless we get CL football. All this will go away if we get top four this season. Media are trying to pick us apart.

    I think it's obvious Villa need depth at RB but I think Cash is still very much part of the squad. Now this might sound mad and will not happen due to our Monchi model but i'd really like us to sign a really experienced player in the twilight of his years who can offer us something different in the box. I'm thinking of a Cavani-esque signing, just for the remainder of the season.

    Imagine if Villa had beaten Forest and Sheff Utd. we'd be clear by two points at the top.

    For once, I'm inclined to agree... There was an interview with Chelsea players on TV recently and I really did a double-take as the new Villa badge and theirs are so similar at first glance. It made me realise Villa need to change it again.

    However, they won't be languishing there for long. With a bit of investment and help along the way this could quickly see them advance through the leagues. That will be the plan for sure...

    I agree, Villa are carrying Ramsey as he's still not match-fit it would seem. Half-time of around sixty minutes would have been a better time to bring Zaniolo on.

    It would be fantastic to see some of the young guns get some experience out there. Potentially helps out both teams.
