So presumably they can't spend a penny in the January transfer window. Is that correct? -
Villa do not REALLY need to spend. Players coming back will strengthen the team; Torres, Tielemens etc and Cash/Konsa can work for the remainder of the season at RB. I presume we will be in a good position to spend money in the Summer if we qualify for CL?

I'm also one who loves the guy and his highlights reel at Villa will always be class; it will never not be outstanding. But, his fitness, robustness, is not fit for Emery and it is unfortunate. Hopefully he smashes it at the Africa Cup of Nations, and then he gets a good move.

And when Emery is congratulated upon Manager of the Month, Emery stays classy and humble by saying it's for the staff, the club, the players and the fans. Emery is self-effacing, again Villa are on the rise and this is only the beginning of hopefully a very long relationship together with him as the Manager.

Hold on, they've spent £400 million and they are midtable in the PL. I'm not sure if that us good business at all...they are the new Chelsea but with an inferior manager. -
Football management is about positivity and intellect... Professor Emery is class, even when Villa were done by VAR against Sheff. Utd he acted with dignity and accepted the decision. Idiots like Arteta are moaning babies who criticise everything and everyone else. The likes of Deeney and Gerrard have no dignity, intellect or composure. Villa are so lucky to have one of the best managers around, sure we will have a difficult patch but we have to stick together, support the manager and team.

I know a Sunderland fan who was not too impressed with Mowbray leaving them... Would not be surprised to see him do a good job at SHA.

I thought he was pretty lively compared to others on the pitch. And he scored the goal, fair play.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's nowhere to be seen today either.. If this is all true it makes Jhon Durán seem like a basket-case; I kind of liked him but I often wondered if he was suited to Emery's brand of football.

Interesting to hear Unai Emery talk on Match of the Day about the title, basically said I will have this conversation again if we are around the same position in the league after 32 games. Just imagine if we are there or thereabouts, I think the teams around us might start to doubt themselves. However I do fully expect the cheating Man S***** machine to kick in and win the league but perhaps not. I'm a believer mate!

Rest a couple for sure but still go fairly strong. I'd like to see Zaniolo, Iroegbunam and Jhon Duràn start the game.

A win is a win, Villa have needed for many a year to grind out wins. Did just that today. Thought Diaby was much improved but then again he missed a couple of good chances, after their sending off Villa should really have scored a couple to make it comfortable. Kamara back will add some stability and bolster the first eleven, we need him and he'll be fresh.
