  1. We should really all know this already and I'll reiterate once again... Monchi will not be buying from the PL, it's the antithesis to the Villa (Monchi) philosophy.
  2. Tim certainly didn't look out of place last night. He seems to have way more manoeuvrability around the pitch than Dendoncker.
  3. Torres has had a couple of weeks off and will be fresh for the Burnley game. Kamara has had a couple of weeks off and will be back fresh for Middlesbrough or Everton game. Tielemans has also had a few weeks off and hopefully will be back for the Everton game. Perhaps a new player to help the matchday squad and one to challenge for a first eleven place and Villa will be reinforced.
  4. Don't take things too seriously, lighten up and move on.
  5. Just running out of steam unfortunately, very lacklustre couple of performances. Again missing Kamara, Torres hurts us as they are two strong performers. Add to that a couple of no shows in Luiz, McGinn, carrying Ramsey and Moreno who don't look match-fit and we are gasping for air. Sense of tiredness too it seems. However to capitulate like that really hurts, confidence was likely knocked after Sheffield Utd. and even more so now. So typical of Villa to give a dying Man Poo their lifesaver performance which could likely galvanise them. Worrying about Spuds and Man Poo now chasing us down.
  6. Not saying he would but they might want him... Money is an incredible motivation for some when astronomical sums are offered. I think money and incentives were a major part of Newcastlearabia's form last season to be honest. Incentivised to the maximum. Yup, exactly.
  7. Yeah I know but it won't stop them thinking they could entice him, perhaps. I hope not though as Tuchel is a good manager.
  8. Probably better for Villa if they keep Howe, he's a limited manager. Mourinho would also be a disaster. The only worry is they go for someone like Tuchel who I believe is a good manager and like Emery would have something to prove in the PL.
  9. To be fair, it's not really just your suspicion... When he signed, Emery alluded to the fact that he thought Zaniolo could play anywhere along the front three, presumably that was wide left, wide right and up top. Zaniolo has all the credentials to be an absolute nightmare for defenders as the front man.
  10. Unai Emery is a class act (we know this) and his comments were gracious: "We accept and respect VAR". Other notable managers would be ranting and moaning like babies about VAR. Remember Aston Villa have class, always.
  11. Like Bailey, McGinn and Diaby they all take time to adapt to both PL football and the tactics of Unai Emery. Hopefully Zaniolo can continue the fine form and bag the winner at Old Trafford. I didn't see the match and again just only highlights of the goal. It was a wonderful header: "leapt like a salmon" but seriously he does possess a strong character, and also aggression on the football pitch. In hindsight maybe should have started the game?
  12. Amazing watching that last video, clearly the size of the leg muscles are greatly reduced in comparison to the other fully functioning leg. It's actually incredible. If you don't use it, you lose it.
  13. After a few hours of mulling the news over I can see the idea of pausing redevelopment of The North Stand. It seems logical to continue riding the current wave of positivity and especially the home form which is so important to our success. The feeling of fortress Villa Park is one we will need next season more than ever before if we do qualify once again for Europe or dare I say Champions league. To take away a complete stand for next season would greatly reduce the atmosphere and I'm all for keeping it the way it is, just for now.
  14. Yeah I agree, one first team player to push for a place and potentially one other to strengthen the match day squad. This will be achievable also if Villa can offload one or two players surplus to requirements in January which I think should be looked at.
  15. Can't unsee the mini phallus, is someone taking the proverbial?
  16. Echo the Trippier is s*** vibe, never really saw him as that great...this season he looks slow and weak. Hope the Barcodes end up with nothing again. Long may it continue.
  17. It's happened now and Villa must move on... Kamara will learn from this but yeah agreed on Brentford's #33; what a little hard man eh?
  18. Villa won't be tinkering at all as it's not necessary. One player to push for a starting place and another for strength within the matchday squad. Thing is if Villa are top at Christmas and stay top four we'll be quite a favourable option for any prospective signings.
  19. Really surprised to see Brentford play and act like that today, I somehow thought they were better? So lucky to give at half-time 1-0 up considering the domination from Villa. Thought Brentford were very negative, ceding possession to Villa and tried to niggle and hit us on the break. As for Frank bemoaning the ethos of the game which is a bit rich when you see Ben Mee trying to break Bailey's leg. No wonder the Villa players were slightly agitated, some of whom were at Villa when he practically ended Wesley's career. As for the abuse directed at Watkins isn't it hilarious that he nets the winner. F*** them, nothing club went down in my estimations after today.
  20. Always thought Thomas Frank was a bit of a word removed but more so now after his comments. Why does he not think how this all started with his very own idiot player getting sent off because of yet another potentially career ending challenge. So subjective these football managers for the most part and yet for balance you hear Emery's comments and alluding to the behaviour of his own players and how to deal with adversity. Result: Emery is class and the other a word removed. Brentford played with no intent to play football, they ruined it a spectacle, trying to contain with their negativity and persistent fouling.
  21. Yeah Zaniolo played well when he got on against Brentford... Gave Villa an outlet, strong with the ball and direct. Good to see, the goal in Europe will have helped his confidence.
  22. First-half Villa were pretty average yet controlled much of the game. They offer nothing to the game yet score a fluke goal. Second-half Villa much improved and deserved to win, statistics also confirm this. Brentford are poor losers though and they are a poor team; finally Ben Mee gets his comeuppance for being a s*** footballer. Moreno MOTM for me and great to see him back.
