  1. 2 changes forced by injury, reckless to use the third with 20 mins left.
  2. Who said anything about playing rubbish all season? My point is you can't add 9 strangers to a depressed and gutted squad, stick them in a sack with some new coaches and manager, shake them about for 10 mins and magically tip out a Championship smashing team. Couple of months down the line if we still look a long way off being a team then the criticism might be warranted, not now.
  3. oh fecking feck for feck's sake just feck off!!!!11!!!1111!!one1
  4. Yeah 4 weeks with an international break in the middle and 9 new players and they haven't all developed a telepathic understanding between each other and smash teams off the park. disgrace.
  5. werid old selection that, I agree it's more 4-2-4 than 4-4-2 isn't it?!
  6. Messi had a mare as well, hope it's not knocked his confidence.
  7. um, not getting the certain doom merchants, we're 6 points off second with 120 points to play for. We will have a good run of form this season, I'm pretty sure of that, It's how good for hwo long that will determine our chances of promotion. Not the time it takes to get a bunch of strangers to become a team. Loads were off on international duty, so the work begins now.
  8. lose and we are 6th points off the playoffs with 40 games left, 120 points to play for.
  9. lose and we're only six points off the playoffs with 40 games left would be nice to go on a little run though wouldn't it? The Newcastle game ont he 24th after a few wins would seem very different to going inot it off the back of scraping a couple of points... RDM hasn't had a few players through international duty so we might need to be a bit patient for a little while more yet.
  10. Ok, but you did say big un's and little un's. If you are talking about strength and not getting brushed off the ball then that's different. Teeny tiny Maradonna, Messi, Mancini was skinny too, and that's just some M's! I was just disagreeing about the big un's comment, if you actually mean having a physical presence and not getting bullied then that's different I suppose.
  11. Barry came through at Brighton IIRC? I don't like the modern obsession with having to physically be a beast and I'm certain that in modern football there is enough protection that a good little un will not always be beaten by a good big un, especially if the little un has better feet.
  12. Yes I'm sad to see Sid go too, I'm sure he could still offer us something in some capacity but maybe for the best. We won't know for a while though will we either way? Re: the highlighted bit, it never ceases to amaze me this. It's really bonkers, even when serie A was completely choc full of the world's best players Italy still managed to produce players to compete at that level. Even now the Italy national side is widely considered to be the weakest it has been for a long, long time it would still beat us and our "stars" quite comfortably more times than they lost I reckon. It has happened consistently over my lifetime that a country with a slightly larger population has produced way better players and won international trophies with them. Every generation it's the same it seems to me, we seem to end up with the same technical and tactical limitations regardless of manager and formation and players. Weird and deeply cultural if you ask me. That said, maybe the scarcity of academy products who can play at the highest level is nothing to do with Sid? Maybe it's more to do with the whole football setup in the UK? Anyway, big thanks to Sid, one of the few English players in the last 40 years to be technically as good as his continental counterparts!
  13. you don't have to guess, dr t tweeted there woudl be loans and 1/2 perm signings in Jan to cover AFCON.
  14. Exactly so you as the priveledged 1% know better than anyone what its like for your bimmer to clash with your daughters 10k cap, am I right?
  15. Right yeah sorry, because erdington folk, and gravely hill folk and aston folk and Perry bar and kingstanding folk are normally competing over what colour beamer is better for their kids right? After the eton reunion of course.
  16. Jesus, the ten bob hat that says money backwards should be the least of our problems with the man. For me he's gone from being the erdington lad destined for **** all who actually made it amazingly good despite all the erdington odds stacked against him, to a lazy and rich man who has forgotten what it was all about and couldn't give a monkeys now he has 'made it' He has been given tons if chances, he was club captain ffs and he managed to funk that up. I deffo don't begrudge him the money, he came from **** all and earned it. What I do have a problem with is how once he got there he couldn't be arsed anymore. From just a sporting sense you would want an athlete to always try to be the best they can be just for pride's sake, when you add to that he's supposed to be a fan it just gets sadder.
  17. Our immediate goal has to be promotion and we appear to have signed players specifically for that task. I don't imagine we have given players older than 30 long term deals, and the younger one's shoudl be motivated by having another crack at proving they can be first team material in the Premier League. That will obviously not be acheivable for all of them but they are professional footballers and IF we win promotion this season they will be aware that we will have to strengthen again to stay there before we contemplate strenghtening again to break the top 10. Looooong road ahead, first things first, let's hope they are good enough to get us up before we worry about hurting their feelings in the premier league by having to buy better players.
  18. Exactly jetlag should be worried about Jedinak and not the other way round...
  19. That's a huge amount of change, we really should not be expecting immediate results though. we may have the pieces but a team still needs to be made with them.
  20. Inzaghi has said Morrison is not "close to" his first team thinking, however the gossip sites have absolutely zero clue where he might go. The player says he wants to come back to England. Links to us only in past tense, plus QPR, Sheffield (?! don't specify what flavour so dubious!), Sunderland and Forest. Make of that what you will but it doesn't look like he'll get a game with Inzaghi any time soon and he wants to come back to England.
  21. The agbonlahor that could still see his feet? Or the current agbonlahor?
