  1. Me too, 24 years, unbelievable.
  2. Won't be Bruce will it? Worth laying bruce now and backing when he goes out or what?
  3. How are we seemingly getting battered with 65% of the ball!?!?
  4. Can we close this thread until there is at least a hint that he might be in trouble from the board?
  5. I didn't see it, only listened to the radio, but I'm not entirely convinced you can put 100% of the blame for this shower of shambles on RDM. Kodija missed a sitter, we had numerous other chances which if WM are to be believed should have ended in a goal after a poor first half. So we should have been out of sight in the 89th minute anyway. We've indentified proven goalscoring talent at this level, we've spent money on it, they are not producing. Personally I think we're too top heavy, but regardless of shape what RDM has been putting out has made enough chances to win at least 3 or 4 of these draws. 16 points instead of 10 and people would be happier, 18 points and we'd be sitting fairly pretty. We've not consistently had our best team out either, I'm not sure who is going to come in and wave a magic wand and make these players convert more of the chances we are creating.
  6. Well RDM brought on Westwood and Gestede, so you'd think he was thinking keep the ball and try and hit them on the counter quickly if we get the chance. Getting ridiculous though either way
  7. Morale possibly, moral, not sure, depends if they are sacrificing goats at bodymoor or something...
  8. As much stick as WEstwood gets on here surely his detractors can see he is good at keeping the ball? 1-0 up away from home, keeping the ball is good.
  9. Pretty sure Grealish has payed centrally in midfield with the academy? Doubt we'll see him tomorrow. Play like the last 25 mins on Sat and we might even get 3 points. Imagine that, 3 points. 3. points.
  10. Well from what I remember at Chelsea in the league he played 4-2-3-1? In the Champions league with them he played some filthy Catenaccio but he **** won it, so you know... At West Brom when he got promotion they scored an absolute shedload of goals. What BOF says about Schalke is interesting, it's definitely something in his locker the catenaccio, park the bus, none shall pass, bit. It's looking like we either don't have the players for it or they need more time on the training pitch to concentrate for 90+ minutes at it. I would absolutely not give a shit if we won 5 games 1-0 with some turgid defensive football to be honest and the fact he has demonstrated he can produce attacking and defensive sides (with success at different levels) I think should earn him some more respect than he is getting. Early doors as Big Ron would say...
  11. Agree with everything apart from the last two lines. LOTS of time on the training ground working on positioning off the ball and defensive shape, and repetition, repetition, repetition.... will help them get more organised and know their jobs both individually and as a unit. It should be possible to coach them into defending better as a unit. Of course, scoring from one chance in 10 instead of one in 20 would also see us win more games...
  12. Well, we really need to convince Richards he wants to resurrect his career and the only way of doin git is stellar performances at RB and forget the CB stuff. Can't see it, but the thought of relying on Bacuna/Hutton there is pretty bleak. May be another reason to switch to 3 at the back, play Bacuna and Amavi as wing backs.
  13. They've said from the off it's a two year project, a slow start over 7 games is nothing compared to the 92 games which comprise the 2 league seasons they were talking about. It's clearly not great that we've essentially thrown away at least 6 points through either profligacy in front of goal, poor concentration, poor game management and keeper errors. 13 points from 7 would look a whole lot different and we were a handfull of minutes away from that being the case. Fine lines. I think it's clear we have problems in the middle of the park, a fit Tshibola though is not something we have seen yet, so you could argue we haven't had out best team out yet as Adomah hasn't featured either.
  14. I don't think it's a surprise we tried hard to protect what we had instead fo going hard at it second half for a second. We have a (swiss) Italian manager after all and seeing out a 1-0 is in the genes What was weird for me was the fact we tried to do it with so many attackign players on the pitch, his hand was forced with two injuries at full back but the bench wasn't exaclty full of midfield talent anyway. Seems to me plan A with 4 forwards was to score a few at home and when that turned into us being a bit disjointed and unable to keep the ball, plan B was to sit tight and hold on to the lead. Problem was we still had 4 forwards on the pitch until Gardner came on for McCormack, and even then we were pretty top heavy if we wanted to play keep ball and take the sting out of the game. As it was Brentford were much better at managing the ball it seems (I say seems as I followed on the radio and had one eye at the stats at the same time) playign out from the back and moving it better. So all in all a very bad night at the office, maybe had we had Grealish and Adomah and Tsihbola we wouldn't have started 4-2-4 and had a better bench even if we did. Still though the two full back injuries meant trying to change the set up with the use of 1 change. His mistake I think was the original line up, but the fact he made it shows how light we are in the middle of the park, with only 2 injuries. Have we got any academy lads that play box to box? Shame Petrov couldn't do a job there anymore as we need more. We aren't losing which is a plus, we have been making tons of chances, which is a plus, however us not baing able to keep the ball or move the ball well at home against a decent technical side is a worry. I don't think our problems are about "fight" or "grit" I think our problems stem from poor ball retention and poor management of the ball when in possession. That unfortunately is not a quick fix and will require a shitload of repetition and developing an understanding between the players. It's too late for more central midfield signings so a big test of RDM is how he overcomes this weakness in the squad. Perhaps going 3 at the back and playing a 3-4-3 might help, to be able to switch to 3-5-2 when we just need to keep it. Saying he's shit etc at this stage is premature, he knows, we know, there are problems, the test is how he handles this situation. Failure will mean being bottom half at the turn of the year and Xia may not be shy in pulling the trigger. Mid september is way too early to be talking about it though after so much change,
  15. Gardner possibly injured. We really should be able to defend better.
  16. codger working hard too... just play keep ball come on....
  17. midfield 5, just keep the ball for 10 mins and look for a break if its on....
  18. This Codger fella is way better than that Kodija.
  19. 2 changes forced by injury, reckless to use the third with 20 mins left.
  20. Who said anything about playing rubbish all season? My point is you can't add 9 strangers to a depressed and gutted squad, stick them in a sack with some new coaches and manager, shake them about for 10 mins and magically tip out a Championship smashing team. Couple of months down the line if we still look a long way off being a team then the criticism might be warranted, not now.
  21. oh fecking feck for feck's sake just feck off!!!!11!!!1111!!one1
