  1. He’s also wearing Villa sweatbands in tribute to Alan Evans
  2. He’s had a few flashes but nothing like his Villa form. Not even close. Miles off.
  3. Well. He hardly played to be fair. I really wanted him to play but he was crap when he did. Sterling was easily our best player
  4. Genuinely think I’ve only seen him play well for villa. He’s largely average for England and City. Villa suited him. I guarantee that at some stage in his life he will regret leaving. 100%
  5. I know he was not on for long but he just doesn’t look sharp to me. He had one great opportunity when he got the ball in the middle of their half and he just messed about and lost possession. I did appreciate his yellow card though. We seem to be getting better at breaking the pay up etc. Good to see
  6. I always stick up for Ollie but his form is terrible. To be fair though, Ings was pretty poor too. Hopefully a run in the team with Emi and Phil behind him will help him back into form.
  7. Spot on mate. A real baptism of fire against 1970’s Everton. Run out will have done him good.
  8. That was a tough game for us. They were too physical, direct and pumped up. It was always going to be tough. We deserved a bit of luck. I reckon the bottle incident unsettled us and the thuggery of some of their play which the ref did nothing about. Take the points and move on. Banana skin well and truly avoided.
  9. Tarkowski and Mings would make a good partnership. Tarkowski is a very good player. He does lack a bit of pace but he reads the game very well. He would also add some steel to our defence. If signing him means we have the spare money to sign a top DCM then I would be delighted.
  10. Poor old Matty T. Anybody else envisioning him slumped in a chair, tear in his eye, phone in hand whilst desperately trying to choose anyone other than Digne to replace himself with! Oh well. I suppose he can always buy himself a Porsche as a consolation.
  11. Totally agree with this. Gerrard knows what good looks like and will work relentlessly to make it happen. I always thought that Dean was a bit too forgiving. He only seemed to see the good in some of his players. Gerrard won’t accept low standards.
  12. I agree that we shouldn’t start them both. Ollie should start with Ings on the bench. However, if he does start them both, it’s because he believes that they are our best bet. He sees them every day. He knows the players physical and mental state. He knows football and he is absolutely determined to win. We always think that we have the answers looking in from the outside but it’s his neck on the line. He will make the right decision and in time he will take us much closer to the top of the table.
  13. Massive news. Absolutely massive. Well done to everybody involved. I love NSWE. We are back,
  14. If Watford and Leeds both win this weekend, Newcastle are in big trouble. I could see both of those results happening. It really will leave Newcastle with a massive job to stay up then. It’s got nothing to do with Newcastle to be honest, or very little at least, but I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a team to got relegated more than this! Come on Watford (sorry Deano) and Leeds!
  15. This window has been a thing of beauty so far. Even if nothing else happens it has been the best January window ever. I’m a greedy bugger though. Throw in a DCM and it’s undeniably 10/10.
  16. This is going to be really interesting. A great chance for him to make a name for himself. He does look like he knows where the back of the net is.
  17. I know he is highly rated but I have never seen anything in him to suggest that he can be a PL player. This will be a great opportunity for him to prove me wrong. Good luck to the lad, I really hope he can show us what he’s about. It’s really interesting watching our youngsters on loan. Hopefully a few more will get a chance too.
  18. I don’t know. Could be a real ankle biter in midfield
  19. It’s gotta be better than blokes the gaffer used to manage at Brentford!
  20. Supporting Villa has never been this much fun before. You gotta love Stevie G. Everybody is talking about us.
  21. He’s not playing great this season but we always look a stronger team with him in it. I think we all agree that it has to be either him or Ings and not both. I would always pick Ollie ahead of Ings. Ings just does not have the physical capability to play the sole striker role.
