He often mentions the fact that we lack aggression in our team. I expect us to be looking to address that in the summer. We also lack any kind of ability to be horrible. Arsenal were so much smarter than us today. Breaking up play, wasting time, breaking any momentum. We have lots to learn.

None of them are consistently good enough at the moment. Luis and Ramsey are young enough to get there but SJM is probably at his peak now. None of them are physical enough. Two starting midfielders of suitable quality would massively improve our performances. Although I would be happy to keep all of our midfielders to be part of the squad I think it’s likely we will sell one or two. I suspect Sanson and Luiz will leave.

Our midfield players are just not at the same level as Arsenal. Until we address that, we will never climb the table. Luis and Ramsey utterly anonymous. McGinn gave the ball away with each of his first two touches and then carried on in that manner for the entire half.

Great news. He is bigger than I thought. He is the player with the most potential out of our youngsters in my view. Possible future captain. More great work from the club.

I doubt any of us enjoy losing but that’s sport. Today was a very close game and the first goal was always going to be massive. We nearly got it but it wasn’t to be. It’s the binary attitude of a small minority of fans that is so hard to accept. Every time we lose, Gerrard is a rookie manager who doesn’t know what he’s doing. It’s ridiculous.

I shouldn’t imagine there’ll be much interest. There’s a reason why he is not getting picked. Dean and Gerrard clearly think we have better options. Maybe the two incredibly highly paid managers who see him every day know a bit more than us fans.

I really can’t believe what I am reading here. AVFC are a magnificent club with a wonderful history. We now have the best owners we have ever had. We have a thriving academy that is levels ahead of any previous stage in our history. Our team has just won three on the bounce and matched a champions league chasing team stride for stride on their own patch. We’ve got Coutinho who is the most high profile signing we have ever made. We have a high profile, young manager who has done a great job coming in and steering an utterly rudderless ship into calmer waters. We sadly, also have a small minority of spoilt fans who will never be happy and should really consider a more enjoyable way to spend their leisure time. We’ve got Coutinho ffs. Try and enjoy it and cut the man who bought him here a massive amount of slack! We have a massive opportunity to achieve real progress with Gerrard. The biggest threat to that is the impatience of a small but very vocal minority of fans. Please don’t blow this opportunity for the rest of us.

My goodness he is a wonderful footballer. I have no idea how long we will have him but I suspect he will be here for a while yet. Let’s just enjoy the ride. Lovely, lovely player. He makes everything look so easy probably because for him, it’s a piece of cake.

Someone please remind me which one it is after a win again. Is it the, we are definitely going down or is it the qualifying for Europe one? It’s all too confusing!

It’s impossible to call this game. Both teams in poor form. Both teams should be doing better than recent results. Both sets of players low on confidence. I think there’s a chance of someone doing something rash out of desperation and getting a red card! If that happens, you have to favour the other team. Otherwise it will probably be a draw.

Palace had an XG of 0.8. They just had an unbelievable night. Our XG was nearly double that against Watford on Saturday and we didn’t score. We probably only need 3 wins to stay up. We will get that easily. We will probably win 5 or 6.

Nope. Just saying that we won’t go down. I expect our form to pick up and we will get some much deserved and long overdue luck. When that happens we will comfortably pull away from the bottom three.

There’s some serious pant wetting going on in this thread. There is absolutely no chance that we are getting relegated. Watford and Norwich are gone. The other team won’t be us. We won’t be close.

All I’m saying is that lots of people are going on about how great our players are and yet the evidence, I.e. the results, do not back that up. It’s just pure and in my opinion, false speculation.
