  1. There’s some fatalistic so and so’s on VT at the moment. I think we win at least 5 of our remaining games and finish top half. We then address all of our obvious deficiencies in the summer and win a cup next season. Now doesn’t that feel better?!
  2. I thought that too. Could have been a penalty as well.
  3. I think that’s fair enough. Hopefully we will bring in 2 centre mids though. I would be happy with those 4 and I agree there could be no excuses after that. I really believe he will get it right though and expect him to still be here in 2 years time.
  4. I’ve just read the mirror article. It’s got a couple of facts wrong so I suspect that, not surprisingly, we can treat the speculation as utter rubbish too. I feel dirty just having to log in to the website! Off for a shower!
  5. Out of interest, if it does work and we improve, will you start supporting the team again or will the anti Gerrard agenda remain? Genuine question. It feels as though he will never be good enough for some people regardless of what he does. If true, why is that? I have always really admired him as a player, leader and manager so am interested to know why some people are so against him.
  6. I disagree. Ings has been really poor. Bailey has been really poor. Buendia has been ok. They may go on to become useful players but their contributions this season have been poor. You are right about the midfield though. We bought the wrong players in the wrong positions last summer. That’s where we should have focused and we will continue to struggle, no matter who the manager is, until that gets sorted.
  7. Drop of perspective boys. I am 49 years old. I’m lucky enough to have seen probably the best era for our club. My first game was the European Cup QF against Kiev. A year later, I was at VP with my dad when we beat Barcelona to win the Super Cup. I was at Wembley in 94 and 96. As I said, I have been lucky. Since then, we have largely failed in my mind. The underlying reason for our failure in my view, is poor ownership. That changed the day that NSWE walked through the door. Since then, we have improved every area of our football club. Those boys have invested huge amounts of money in order to make that happen. They continue to do so. They have now nailed their colours to the Gerrard mast. They are continuing to support our club financially like no other previous owners. They deserve our full unequivocal backing. We are incredibly lucky to have NSWE. Gerrard is their man and thus should be ours too until he has had time to prove/disprove his capability. The power of a unified support should never be underestimated. We desperately needed NSWE to rescue us from a potentially terrible fate. They now need us to support their man and hopefully raise us closer to former glories. My son is 7 years old. He sat with me today, in his full villa kit. It upset him to see us getting hammered. I genuinely had to consider whether I want him involved but his grandad was from Aston and he taught me that life is rarely straight forward and the things that we treasure most are often the things that are most difficult to come by. My dad died 4 years ago and it’s important to me that my son understands his heritage which is heavily intertwined with villa but there are times when we as a group of supporters need to do our bit. I don’t want to support a club where winning is the only factor to happiness. I do however want to support a club that tries to improve and become the best version of itself. NSWE are trying incredibly hard to make us the best we can possibly be. It will be much easier if we get behind the team and the manager. Give Gerrard a chance. He has only been here for 5 minutes.
  8. Have a lie down mate. You’ll feel better.
  9. Konsa had a bad day but the rest of the defenders were fine. I thought Digne was really good. Ings had a bad day at the office and JJ and Bailey should both have scored. Conversely, Son had probably the most lethal day of his season. It happens and we just have to accept it.
  10. I find this to be a very unusual argument. Surely one thing most people agree upon is the quality of the signings Gerrard has made. If he signs players as good as Digne, Coutinho and Chambers then we will be in a great position for any new manager coming in.
  11. You know that’s not true. If we perform like that we will win more often than we lose. Today was harsh on us and I guarantee you that when the emotion subsides most fans will see that. Tough one to take but we have played much worse than that this season and won.
  12. Well obviously but there’s alot of people going on about the performance and it was really decent against a very good team who are in form. We had the better of virtually all the stats apart from the most important one. If we played that game again with those same stats we win 95% of the time. Just not our day but there was plenty to be positive about if you care to look for it.
  13. Spurs had a XG of 0.98. Ours was 1.48. Stats straight from planet earth 2022
  14. Second half was 50:50. First half was absolute one way traffic
  15. I’m not sure he is responsible for the unbelievable amount of luck that spurs had today. We were the better team.
  16. We were the better team. Absolutely no luck at all. Watch it again if you don’t agree because you are wrong. We are having a really unlucky season. I can never remember another one when so much goes against us.

    Ezri Konsa

He is just so bad. He does nothing positive. Crap with the ball. Crap without the ball. Needs dropping for the rest of the season.

    Keinan Davis

I bet non of those knuckle dragging fools are brave enough to run on the pitch and punch big Kienan in the back of the head.

Lovely jubbley. Ha ha ha ha ha. Get in big fella. SOTC
  20. I actually think that Henderson would be class for us. He is exactly what we need. No chance of it happening though.
  21. 2-0 to the mighty Villa.
  22. I live south of the city in Knighton. You often see people strutting around in villa gear. When I have traveled by train to watch us at Wembley there have always been a few of us getting on at Leicester.
  23. Most of Smith’s bad spells came along when Jack was injured. Whenever this happened Dean looked absolutely clueless. I think that the problem is, there is not really an effective way to get these players to perform better than they are. Dean and latterly Gerrard are hamstrung by a squad that is unbalanced and inconsistent. Give Gerrard a chance to change that. If we are still struggling then he will deserve criticism. Until that, he deserves time.
  24. Nope but he had absolutely awful spells in each of his seasons but he was given a chance. His awful spells were much worse than Gerrard has experienced but he was given a chance. Maybe there’s a message in there somewhere!
  25. I make it 6 teams with a worse XG. So we are kind of in that middle band which is what you’d expect? If we sort our midfield out, that will be much higher next season.
