You are wrong I’m afraid. Konsa is responsible for so many goals by not engaging the opposition. It was the case for the first goal yesterday. He was then totally asleep and half arsed for the second. He had virtually no positive impact on the team yesterday and then of course he very stupidly got sent off. Mings also had a poor game yesterday. He could certainly have done better with all three goals, although he was unlucky for the first two. He did however do loads of good stuff in between. He is brave and he always engages the opposition in attack and defence. Konsa offered nothing.

He won’t be starting next season. He isn’t good enough. He is also nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. His attitude is really poor. I’ve always thought that Mings is a much better player and I stand by that. Konsa goes way before Mings does.

We just have too many players who are all out of form at the same time. Half of our team tonight put in really poor performances. That’s not the fault of the manager.

The first was harsh but it’s hard to defend the second. Only someone incredibly stupid would do what he did. He deserved his yellow.

He was good tonight. One of the few to stand up to Leeds bully boy tactics.

He was brilliant at times tonight. His first touch and movement are different class. The timing and weight of his pass for the third goal was superb. He made it look so easy. Wonderful

He was so bad. Gerrard must think Ings is really bad not to bring him on.

Mings was really good and really bad! Needs to be better. Still much better than Konsa but not good enough at the moment.

He has been awful all season. He is utterly brain dead. I would sell him in the summer. He is so soft. So annoying

Threw it away. Midfield awful. Centre backs awful. Coutinho wonderful. What has happened to Watkins?!

He is struggling with form but the most disappointing bit is his lack of effort. His work rate has dropped right off. He doesn’t deserve to come out for the second half after that.

I think this guy will play more often than most people are expecting. He is better than people think and his versatility means he will get opportunities. I would not be surprised to see him starting half of our remaining matches. He’s a really good signing in my view.

If the right deal, for the right player, is on the table, we will get it done. If not we will wait until it is. Either way we can look back and be happy that it’s been a fantastic January window.

I suspect the agreement with the player is already done in principle. It’s just a matter of agreeing the fee with Juventus. They need to sell and are just hanging off for as long as possible to get the biggest fee. They are then trying to create a Mexican stand off by leaking interest of other clubs to try and force an increased offer from us. It will happen either today or tomorrow.

He’s quite well suited to a Stevie G line up. He is a decent player too but not sure about his commitment. It would be interesting to see if Stevie could get him motivated. Probably too much of a risk but I wouldn’t be totally against it.

Agree mate. It’s a bit of a staring competition at the moment but nobody beats the Lange at those.

Could he put pressure on Matty Cash for a start? It’s good to have his versatility. Really smart signing I think. Well done Villa.

I agree. If it’s Newcastle make it £45m. Someone is pushing hard and they must feel that there’s hope. I would not be surprised at all if he is gone by Monday.

I know what you mean but let’s not forget how well we have done already. I’m actually looking forward to February 1st so I can start to focus on getting excited about watching Coutinho again. In a Villa shirt no less!

Don’t believe that. Gerrard was very clear that if we don’t get the players that we want, we will wait until the summer and try again. I’m not sure that Kamara even gets into our team.

We can’t keep signing players without selling a few assets to balance things out. It would be great to keep Dougie but it may be for the greater good to let him go. I feel the same way about Ings and maybe even Traore too!

He’s an excellent footballer. He’s very smart in a positional sense, looks comfortable taking the ball in tight areas, knows when to press and when to hold his position. All in all he looks good. That game was fairly slow paced though so it’s hard to tell how he would react to the PL.

Just to bring a bit of context. We are sat here, objectively assessing the quality of a Juventus midfield player who has been first choice in their midfield for the past few seasons and is only 24. This is not Danny Drinkwater we are talking about! If Stevie wants him, that’s more than enough for me.
