  1. Ranks alongside "my garden shed" as my least favourite chants in recent years. Would rather we sang old favourites like "the bells are ringing" and" i do like to be beside the seaside" I agree with ciggiesnbeer about the Sylla chant. It's unique to us.
  2. Agree. Bannan is an average footballer who is surplus to requirements at Villa and I wish him luck wherever he ends up. He gets more stick than he deserves.
  3. In keeping with most of the Stoke playing staff, Shawdross isn't adept at using his feet to propel the ball unless it needs to travel in excess of 50 yards. He is better using his head although I would suspect he could quite easily make the transition to the ball game where the players pick up the ball and run towards the other end of the pitch. I hope we are adopting a different footballing philosophy to that practiced in Stoke.
  4. was it you standing in the middle tier close to the Villa fans recording us on your phone?
  5. Utterr drivel written by bitter, deluded, jealous half wits. Strange how many claimed they "couldn't make the game today" - maybe we should start a thread on reasons why.
  6. Great day out yesterday at The Emirates, I was far too inebriated to attempt posting on here when i got home. After a dodgy start we grew into the game and at 1-1 i always thought we'd win it. Rosicky caused one of two issues with his clever give and go passes which left us flat footed at times but credit to all the players for a very good team performance. I gave Gabby MOTM but Delph was a close second and I also thought Clark was excellent when he came on. Credit to the Gooners, plenty of them praised our performance after the game. Onwards and upwards !!
  7. Habib Beye? I know he was pre Nelson but Gary Charles takes some beating as the worst right back in the last 35 years.
  8. Good luck DB9. His goal at Wigan epitomised his ability to score when given the service, however I'm certain Benteke will give us a much better goal return than DB9.
  9. I agree. His goal against SHA and the poor quality of his immediate replacements enhanced his reputation but his display against us when we battered Bolton was one oif the worst I have witnessed by a centre half. He couldn't handle Carew that day. Kenny Miller ran him ragged on wednesday and Miller is League 1 standard at best.
  10. He'll score a few for them but I doubt he'll match Lukaku's total for last season. He's relatively untried at the top level so I think their squad is weaker than it was last season. They had a very poor second half of last season so I 'm sure they'll struggle to finish in the top half this season.
  11. Fatten them up? Why would anyone want to fatten an animal up? Fat ≠ Meat Are you sure you've researched this properly? Edit - There's probably an OT thread to discuss this. This thread is to discuss how many creative midfielders we're going to sign before 2nd Sep. My guess is 4. Yes I have done my research, but thanks for asking. Happy to discuss this in a relevant thread if you'd like to.
  12. Martin Jol could be vulnerable now that Fulham have a new owner.
  13. I eat meat. I also work out and exercise regularly. I know some vegetarians who are grossly overweight and very unfit. Not eating meat doesn't make you healthier. Not saying it does, my viewpoint is based on the toxins in the feed given to animals to fatten them up quickly.
  14. Nothing wrong with us veggies. I'd wager we are far healthier than you meat eaters!!!!!!

Agreed. Less busy at full time and there's a couple of decent pubs close by too.
  16. Dale Stephens? Nope it was Peter Whittingham.
  17. A friend of mine played against Leicester last season and described him as the best player in the Championship.
  18. Not surprised Gabby isn't included, it's not Hodgson's style to pick in form strikers. He'd much rather select Man Ure reserves. And how Glenn Johnson can be included at the expense of Lowton is beyond me.
  19. No, he actually does no such **** thing. He vows nothing, he says nothing, as does that shit-awful utterly worthless article. I can't believe an apparent professional writer degraded himself and insulted his readership by penning such shite. The next person to get close enough should lob just it out and piss up Kendrick's leg. Off topic but based on your advice was it you standing behind me at the Stone Roses gig last month?!!!
  20. Absolutely bizarre. What are Coventry supposed to do? If they can't pay to play at the Ricoh and they can't play elsewhere....? I thought the owners of the Ricoh offered Coventry the open to use the ground rent free? (I assume getting some matchday revenue). Indeed they did. Sisu seemingly chose to reject that offer though, in favour of building their own ground. To add to the hilarity, Sisu 'called out' an MP whom, when the issue of Cov moving out of the city to play their games was raised in the House, blamed it all on them and called them a disgrace, basically. Sisu invited said chappy to stop hiding behind Parlimentary immunity, and, well, not in these exact words, but basically to 'SAY IT TO OUR FACE'. This came about as an article on their OS. In the minority here, but I am feeling increasingly sorry for their lot, it's a pretty unbelievable state of affairs. You are correct - you are in the minority!
  21. If it's a choice between Le Arse and Chelski then I'd prefer it to be Le Arse. At least Wenger has stuck to his principles of trying to develop young players, whereas Chelski have bought success in a classless manner. Arsenal have heritage, Chelksi are more like a chavvy lottery winner. If he does leave for the Emirates, I hope it's after the opening day of the season though.
