  1. Very good point. Whilst I don't expect us to be signing "the finished article" I'd like to see players that are nearing their potential.
  2. Especially if they are knocked out on penalties.....
  3. Wow horrific, really? He was always incredibly average but i never saw him play ever and thought he was horrific. Yes he was a dependable 6/10. We've certainly had worse defenders in recent time.........
  4. If we were to even consider selling him in January then I hope we've accumulated 40 points by then! January is notorious for inflated transfer fees which will work in our advantage if we don't buy a replacement. Whilst I'm confident Helenius and Kozak will turn out to be more than decent I suspect it will take them the remainder of this season to adjust. It's not worth gambling our PL status for the sake of a few extra million in January.
  5. i suspect Jol will be gone before Christmas, especially after we take 3 points off them. I doubt this appointment was his choice so the owner clearly has little faith in his ability to turn things round.
  6. His old man was a Billy Big Bollocks. I wouldn't want this type of player anywhere near the current Villa set-up. Agreed he was arrogant but he had a winning mentality, something we lack. If he's got an element of that from his father, it's no bad thing.
  7. I watched Ince at a recent England U21 game, the lad is quality and would be a capable addition to the squad. He's got alot of natural ability and a little bit of his fathers attitude which is no bad thing.
  8. I'm glad he was fuming when Bowery didn't pass to him. I was seething too! He's a striker and all good strikers want the ball. The time to worry is when he doesn't react in that manner. CB is still a little rusty but he'll soon be back firing on all cylinders.
  9. Mickey Mouse just about sums them up. Hopefully someone will come up with an appropriate chant ahead of the derby match.
  10. I suspect any new signings will be under 24 years old.
  11. I think he's originally from the Solihull area.
  12. Spot on. When he stops showing his frustration that's when we should start to worry. He's not yet 100% and maybe he's frusrated that he's not hitting the heights of last season. He made a point of shaking Kozak's hand when he was subbed so I don't think it's a case of him thinking he is bigger than the club.
  13. I thought that particular individual was no longer posting on VT?!!!!
  14. He's now adapted to the premier league and looks far more comfortable now. Fingers crossed he stays injury free for the remainder of the season.
  15. So Gabby walks straight back in the team even though he hasn't scored this season I think Kozak deserves to keep his place. Gabby has a decent goal scoring record in derby games and his pace is vital in how we play, especially away from home. Must start for me despite his lack of goals.
  16. Involved in all the best phases of play today.
  17. On the assumption Delph, Gabby, Luna and Weimann are available for selection, I predict 2-1 to us with Bacuna and Benteke netting. The icing on the cake would be for Olsson to get a red card.
  18. Agree. I'd rather those that booed at half time when it was 0-0 stayed at home. Hardly surprising the players look edgy at times. Cardiff came to us on the back of a derby win with pretty much a fully fit squad whereas we had 5 key players unavailable. Bacuna MOTM although Vlaar, Clark and Sylla were good. Can't understand the criticism of Sylla given that he's had limited game time. Both he and Benteke looked rusty so hopefully the 90 mins will do them both good. Couldn't see the point of Bowery coming on. He's not a natural striker as he had a chance to pull the trigger when on goal, hesitated and passed instead. That's not the instinct of a natural striker. Wold've preferred Helenius to get a few more minutes as I feel he's a much better prospect at this level. It's great to get 3 points but ironic that the performance against Everton was better but yielded nil points.
  19. Spot on Mark. He's improved a little from last season but not effective enough for me to warrant a start.
  20. Gradually improving each game. Put in a couple of decent crosses that had someone gambled on going to the near post, may have resulted in attempts on goal.
  21. thing about Gareth was he never had pace so didn't have it to lose. He always relied on his brain and I would agree it us something we could definitely do with now Gaz Baz would've bought invaluable experience to our midfield but let's be realistic, given a choice between playing for us or Everton it's no guarantee he would've chosen us.
  22. Out for three weeks according to physioroom - Luna and Bennett out for the same timescale.
  23. Was he wearing a stained vest or carrying a shopping bag whilst dressed in full kit?
  24. Absolutely spot on. The quick fixes are what has dropped us in the brown stuff, the rebuilding is going to take time.
