  1. I'm confident Lambert will unearth more gems similar to Lowton, Benteke and Westwood. I'm not at all concerned which division they come from.
  2. Big no from me, too old now, big wages and turning 33 in October.. Not what Lambert has in mind. Agreed, too old, too expensive and too injury prone. Hopefully the rumours linking us with the ex con with the Blues tattoo on his leg will finally be put to rest after his performance today.
  3. Disappointed Watford didn't win, far easier trip than Selhurst. Unless they've spent money on the ground in the last couple of years, the stadium should be condemned.
  4. I can't be arsed to read through all the posts, but are the doom and gloom merchants on here the same drama queens that were certain we were going to be relegated? CB is under contract, we don't have to sell him and if we do we'll get a huge fee for him. As earlier posters have stated, we hold all the aces.
  5. Not really the weather for it right now...... I know, I know, that was bad. It is open right NOW. I think players can be officially signed from 1st July although deals can be agreed in principle before that date.
  6. i agree with this, although id like to see... LB, either move Clark there or Martin Olsson CB, Abdoulaye Ba or Robert Huth AM, Adel Taarabt or Jonathan De Guzman subs Gk, Boaz Myhill or Wayne Hennessey CB, ? CF, Adam Le Fondre or Alfreo Finnbogason Get out! just get out! Ideally it's a resounding no to all of those suggestions from AndyBM. Taarabt is too temperamental and with the exception of De Guzman I think we can do better than the rest of them.
  7. He played a big part in keeping us up with his performances at the end of last season. I hope he is able to continue his career elsewhere at a a decent level.
  8. Tough life isn't it. Some of his team mates couldn't be bothered to do so. I'm not a big fan of Bannan but I do think he gets a lot of undeserved criticism.
  9. Fair play to him, took the time to sign autographs and pose for photos after the game.
  10. Comfortable Villa victory by at least a 2 goal margin. Wigan will be flat now that relegation is confirmed, they've picked up another injury to a key player so I predict a clean sheet as well.
  11. For me it's Gabby's goal against QPR. If we'd gone in at half time 1-0 down we might not have had the subsequent revival.
  12. I think most of the PL will finish above Norwich next season.
  13. I'd like to think we could be a little more ambitious and sign more established players than those you have mentioned. The squad has enough potential, it needs a couple of older heads to help them out. Whilst it's ok to sign potential, Lerner has had a massive let off this season so he can't afford to become complacent and not release funds this summer. Also a massive no to Deeney. I don't want anyone pulling on our famous shirt with a Blues tattoo.
  14. Top 10 at least. Lambert has unearthed gems in Lowton, Benteke, Sylla and Westwood and I trust him to do the same again this summer. Despite all the drama and stress of the last few months the improvement in the team has been evident, and with an average age of 23 the future is bright. Sylla, Westwood and Delph need an older head in midfield and a Lescott type centre half will allow Clark and Baker to develop without the pressure of being automatic choices. One thing is for sure, we'll certainly finish above the Boggies. I'm looking forward to next season.

I'm hoping it's game over by half time with Arsenal racking up a cricket score
  16. I don't care where he ends up as long as we are in the Premier League next season.
  17. Wigan's weakness is their defence so I'd start with Bent as he will exploit the lack of pace in their centre halves.

Beat me to it! I can understand anyone wanting to leave Glasgow but not for Wigan!
  19. Tickets arrived this morning!!!! Just need the Arse to draw or win tonight so that the game will be less stressful......

Just hold that thought for 30 more hours if you don't mind There's a first time for everything. Regardless of whether Wigan win tomorrow, I'm confident we will get at least a draw and Spurs will beat Sunderland next weekend. The stress should help me shed a few pounds in the meantime!

So let me just check; The 2 teams below both have away games at top 5 teams chasing champions league places. Neither of those teams battling relegation can afford to drop points. One of those teams below us is playing their third game in a week and is minus half their back four, whilst the other team will be missing their 3 top scorers as well as 2 of their more consistent players. Added to that the 2 teams chasing champions league places are bitter rivals. I'm not panicking, I'd be more worried if we were dependent on Man City given their last 2 or 3 performances than Arsenal or Spurs. And if it comes to it, I'd back us to avoid defeat next sunday.

We're fine. Arsenal are probably the worst team to play after a cup final as they play keep ball and Wigan won't have enough possession of the ball to influence the game. Yesterday's victory for Wigan was partly due to Man City lacking any urgency or pace in their play. Arsenal have pace going forward so I'd back them to get the point we need to be safe. I'm still backing Zog to send Wigan down next sunday.
