  1. I agree I disagree having suffered 2 ACL injuries. It depends on whether it has snapped or torn. If it's snaped it's a complete replacement of the ligament using either a hamstring or patella graft, if it's torn it can be repaired. I first snapped and then later tore my ACL. I couldn't walk when I snapped it but walked around with just a tear. Either way you can't rush the rehab so it would be a minimum 6 months for the repair and probably 9 months for a replacement.
  2. Major blow if the news is confirmed. We're back to having 3 centre halves which isn't great considering Baker's injury record and the likelihood of suspensions etc...
  3. I don't disagree with you however I've both snapped my ACL and torn it, the first time I knew I'd done it but the tear was only picked up when I went in to have some scar tissue flushed out.
  4. Needs to start from now on. He was pivotal in our good run last season by complimenting Westwood and Delph. Had he played yesterday I doubt Cabaye and Sissoko would've had the time to dictate the tempo in midfield.
  5. We were crying out for width yesterday and for all his shortcomings in his first season in the premiership, one thing Bennett offered us was width - especially going forward. It's far too early to write him off as he has a very good left foot. Once he has matured and gained more strength he will prove to be a very decent left sided player.
  6. Don't shoot the messenger! That's the consensus around the training ground and the fans.
  7. That's finally wrecked Gabby's chances of playing for England in the short term. I bet Woy has 1D on his ipod.
  8. I couldnt hold the tears back, especially when his lad ran over to him. That tipped me over the edge, really emotional moment I just about did, sat watching with the wife and kids, I had to take a few big gulps. You did better than me dude, as a father of 2 sons I couldn't hold back when his son ran onto the pitch. Everything I read and hear about Stan makes me incredibly proud he wore our shirt. Stan is a true role model in every sense of the word. God bless you Stan.
  9. No doubt Woy will call him up based on him scoring a hat trick in a league cup game against a league 2 side.
  10. Agreed. He's unpredictable and erratic and capable of producing something out of the ordinary. I'd hope Lambert can harness that to our advantage when he's fit.
  11. Is it bad that I instantly knew the tune to that? Yes. x1000000
  12. Better step up security around B6 on saturday then.
  13. I read a while ago that Bouma was too emotional to come out at the final game of the season against Blackburn at home - to this day I think we were too hasty in releasing him. If we do have a charity game at Villa Park I hope Freddie plays so we can give him the ovation he deserves.
  14. Apparently Clarke has 2 games to save his job. Hopefully they get a coupe of points from them so he's stays in the job for longer!
  15. What an insulting comment by Hodgson as far as Gabby is concerned. Woy is an idiot. His squad selections have consistently demonstrated this since his apointment.
  16. Multiple warning points should be issued for even suggesting this.
  17. For me it's Sunderland, Hull and either Palace or The Boggies for the final spot. Cardiff's home form will keep them up. The Boggies, Palace or Hull don't appear to have someone capable of scoring 15 plus goals which is vital if they are to avoid the drop, and regardless of how quickly Sunderland sack Di Canio his successor will have to manage a team of consisting of journeyman and overseas mercenaries.
  18. Although I voted for Lambert, It could be argued that to a certain extent the most influential person at the club last month was Randy Lerner because of the level of investment (or lack of investment some will argue) as it has influenced our transfer activity. We'll finish top half without a doubt but I'm not yet convinced whether we can sneak into the top 8 just yet.
  19. I popped into the ticket office on the night of the Rotherham game to collect those tickets and tried to buy Norwich tickets then but they weren't selling any other tickets to manage the queue. By the time I called in the next day they had sold out. After 3 weeks away in Portugal the plastic had had a right hammering so the credit card wasn't an option!! At least it's on the box so I can watch the game but I am surprised we haven't taken the full allocation given our away following.
  20. I've missed out simply because of economics. I went to 12 away matches last season with my kids and having forked out for 3 season tickets, an overseas family holiday and tickets and travel to Arsenal i had to wait until the end of Aug to buy tickets for this game. By the time I had been paid the tickets had sold out so maybe there are more like me that had to wait until they were paid at the end of the month before purchasing tickets. August is an expensive month for many people so perhas that explains why tickets were initially slow to sell.
  21. Wholehearted player, not the most gifted but he had a fantastic work ethic and attitude. I'm sure he's got the credentials to be a decent coach if he wants to stay in the game.
  22. January is notorious for clubs having to pay well over the odds for players. Lambert has been wise enough to bring in a striker in the mould of Benteke who now has at least the best part of 4 months to adjust to the premier league without the pressure of being the main striker. As much as I'd hate to lose Benteke in January, if someone does offer ridiculous money, and provided we've secured our premier league status then maybe Lambert might sanction a deal. I agree with BOF that he'll be gone before the start of next season so if it suits us to cash in early then so be it.
