  1. You have to build the team around him for him to have an impact. That seriously limits the teams interested in him. Teams with 32m to spend already have players the team is built around.
  2. As if we have 15m to spend. If we did, and we spent it on Vardy, never mind sacked, I'd want Sherwood sectioned.
  3. If they keep Bolasie and sign Cabeye.. They've got a good manager who had them playing good football and they rocketed up the table as a result. Their chairman has promised big investment this summer. I'm probably over estimating them, but they'll have an easier job selling 'we can get into europa' than we can.
  4. How we differ. I think palace will finish top 7
  5. Off topic I know, but I think palace could seriously be a dark horse next year. The other attractions mentioned are all very good reasons Cabeye will, and honestly should, go to Palace, but when it comes to convincing a player he's joining a team with ambition, Palace have a much easier job of that.
  6. Micky Arison is the guy who has Messi* in his team and is so tight, not wanting to pay,say Pique*, that Messi* decides to leave. * actual names and sports may vary. * I have no idea what you are talking about. Micky Arison is the owner of NBA's Miami Heat. He lucked into a player collusion that brought LeBron James to his team - the closest basketball comparison to Leo Messi. Then he lost James because he was being a cheap ass, amnestying a player that James and others had taken a paycut so they could sign, didn't spend to replace him and lost the following year's finals. So, you're saying he's already learnt his lesson and won't be doing so again at our expense. Excellent.
  7. Billic has a lot to prove IMO. He had a good spell with Croatia but he had excellent players at his disposal. Domestically he hasn't been at a very high level for some time.
  8. In North Korea we won the FA cup final 98-0.
  9. That was my thoughts too. I saw that as a way of Sherwood saying 'hands off' without upsetting Benteke. Someone might well pay 32m for him, but teams with 32m to spend are more likely to look at proven European pedigree. So by saying he's available for 32m, you're letting Benteke know we won't stand in his way if he wants to leave, whilst similtaneousky giving a very unlikely situation for that to occur. Liverpool will probably pay it though. They're desperate.
  10. Rumours on Twitter tonight that Rogers has been sacked. Probably bullshit and I can't see them not waiting until after last game now.. but no smoke without fire and all that.
  11. Football is a strange thing. From spending all afternoon praying for Hull to lose, I will be cheering them on to win next week. Can't see it sadly, but if Utd have nothing to play for, you just don't know.
  12. We have the early kick off. If we can win that I'll be supporting Hull to keep it exciting going into the last day. If we don't win though, I'm supporting Spurs, and that hurts.
  13. Still a good player but his wage demands would be too much. Would be too much of a 'QPR-style' signing for my liking. I think left back will be high on Sherwood's list, and i can see us getting a decent Championship player, maybe George Friend if Boro don't come up via playoffs.
  14. Maybe Lambert should think about becoming a head scout somewhere. Far less pressure than being a manager and it seems he's considerably better at it. Would imagine it pays pretty well as well; if you can unearth a 1m player who later becomes a 6-8m player, you'll be rewarded.
  15. I think once our premiership survival is confirmed we'll see a fair bit of news on players, and I think (and hope) Cleverley will be one of them. Gone quite quiet for Vlaar too, unless Van Gaal comes sniffing again i don't think he's going to get a better offer than a new one here. A new deal for Benteke is a long shot, but if we win FA cup and get into Europe you just never know.
  16. Hull will beat Spurs. I think we need to get a result against Southampton or we go into the last weekend needing a result :-/
  17. Always feel sorry for people when they genuinely hear from a mate of a mate of a relative of a pet of a mate of a players brother.. I'm sure you'll appreciate my scepticism, but I do hope you are right, even with his sketchy injury record he's a very useful player to have.
  18. @SkySportsNewsHQ: Sky sources: A takeover deal for #AVFC could be done within the next two months - in time for pre-season. #SSNHQ http://t.co/QD63OLiSLR

    Top Gear

Hearing that the line up of Glennister, Kidd and Martin is confirmed. Could be interesting, but I think it's going to go a long way backwards. The chemistry between the main three presenters was why it was watched, people didn't really care about the cars. Saying that, it's time for a bit of a change, and although I'm unsure about Kidd and Martin, I think Glennister will fill the Clarkson role really well.
  20. Dennis Rommedahl - one of the fastest players ever in the Premier League, but with close to zero actual footballing abilities. Moved from Charlton to Ajax and did OK there. Won Danish Footballer of the year in 2010. Retired last summer after moving from Brondby to RKC Waalwijk (where he was loaned to for a season in his PSV days), but made no appearances due to injuries, dissolved his contract and retired.
  21. This weekend is massive. Get a win as we should against West Ham and one of Sunderland, Leicester or Newcastle lose, it puts us in a great position. West Ham been terrible for weeks, with us fighting hard and playing as well as we are we should edge to within sight of the line.
  22. I love how there's slight whisperings of takeover rumours and people are jumping up like 'oh I don't want us to become the best team in the world.. we wouldn't be the same'. Or to a lesser extent already talking about European football or even Champions League.. I think we need to be a little calmer here and realise that it's very unlikely a new owner will be mega rich, and if he is, unlikely he'll be spending his hard-earned wealth on us. It's more likely we'll be bought as a business, to do enough to stay in the Premier League and keep the TV revenue coming in. Success on the pitch and things for the fans to cheer is merely a by-product of that.
  23. Stoke are the highest placed. Were they at the time though..
  24. We'll play Hutton at right back against stronger teams or teams with strong threat down the left wing. Against the weaker teams or games where he can bomb forward we'll be using him and N'Zogbia to give us quick counter attacking football. Sunderland couldn't cope with it, there will be others who can't.
