Thought our bid was €10m plus N'Zogbia? How is a bid of €13m preferable to that? I know N'Zogbia hasn't been in great form lately but he's worth well more than €3m, particularly returning to France.

It does seem odd to have such similarities. It looks like our scouting network was based solely in Ligue 1 last season, but whether they started their list at J and then got bored and gave up..

Fwiw, I think the French journalist was making a joke about him being called Jordan and us buying lots of Jordan's, which lines up with the 'unknown English club', and our recent shopping trip to France. Hope I'm wrong but genuinely can't see anything in that link.

It's 11.30 at night (12.30 in France) and its moved from Spurs tonLiverpool to Villa and back to Spurs in no time at all. Can we just assume nobody knows and pick this up again in the cold light of day when it's more likely the player and people involved will actually be awake?

Impact sub sounds about right. I think he's brilliant for that role, but unless there's serious improvement from him I'll be disappointed if he's in our starting 11. I've always liked Gabby, but he's been too comfortable for too long. Can't argue his passion, but hasn't really turned that into results for whatever reason, probably due to ability, sadly b

Jordan Veretout? Come on guys, don't do this to me. Know very little about him other than someone I know who supports Spurs (and follows European football very closely) was creaming himself over their link to him, saying he'll be their best player in recent years (I'm guessing selective memory re: bale and modric) Signing good players is one thing, but seeing Spurs fans cry at a result of it, too much.

He'd be a useful player to so many teams, but his wages are so high there no way of getting anyone to take him. Could see him doing well in the championship but we'd still have to pay at least half of his wages. At that point, are we better off keeping him around? Richard will say no, but I think yes.

Owen went on to win the Ballon D'Or at the age of 21-22. Whilst I agree that hamstring tears are far from trivial, I think that's not the best example to use :-P

I don't think we will sign a Benteke replacement. I think we'll change our playing style so we don't need a Benteke. We don't need a figurehead who we rely on for 75% of our goals. We seem to be building around movement and pace, which will utilise Gil and what he has to offer much more. So Gil essentially becomes a new signing too.

Richardson is the most obvious casualty so far with the signing of Amavi. With so many players sold already, I can see all players given a chance to prove themselves (even Tonev!) and provide competition. I can't see N'Zogbia getting in the team though, and I have a sneaky feeling Sanchez will find himself behind Gueye and Westwood - plus if we get in any of the other central midfield rumours. Jordan Ayew will see Gabby spend more on the bench than the pitch. But I don't think we'll see a 'bomb squad' as we had before.

When were jive rumoured to have made the bid? They've bought zaza in the last week, and dybala and mandzukic, they've still got llorente and morata on the books too Purely going on the conversation from a few pages back. Talk was that our 10m bid wouldn't be enough because of a €20m bid from Juventus being rejected. And the fact they've already got such good strikers prompted my points about buying for the future so possibly being open to a loan back.

If he rates Westwood so well, why are we being linked with so many in his position? Unless Sanchez is to be moved on, signing Gueye and Darder makes no sense.

Sell on clauses are very common now. Especially with the likes of man city and others spending obscene amounts. If City bid 70m for him in 4 years, they'd want a piece of that, of course. It's release clauses I don't want to see
