We can never get close to Fernandes, that's the big issue. He was finding space effortlessly and getting the ball out wide for them to hurt us. Badly missed Kamara for that so hopefully he plays in the VP game and we have more control in that area (although of course they could still hurt us on the counter).

Main thing is to have another 11 point lead over them when the return match takes place and looking at the respective fixtures it should be possible. Then we beat them and pretty much rule them out of top 4/5 contention.

We won't beat them.

Lol at BBC Sport declaring this a "new era". They'll go back to being shit next game.

That's exactly what my utd mate wrote in my WhatsApp group

There were definitely moments last night where you could see exactly why they are shit, rashford and Fernandes both took terrible touches in front of goal, hojlund had movement that showed he's not a natural striker, garnacho overhit a simple pass that would have been a tap in, onana put the ball out for a throw in at least 3 times, both of our goals were shite from them

We made them look like world beaters, they tried their hardest to **** it up

Losing Onana to the African cup of Nations is gonna be a bummer for them. 😂

Man U signed him on the premise he wasn't playing for them due to a fall out, looks like he must have made friends again. 😂

Probably work in their favour as they’ll have a better goalkeeper playing for them instead 😂

Should never have sacked Van Gaal 7 years ago. They've spent probably near a billion since and all they've got to show for it are 2 League Cups and a Europa League.

Same with Jose, they pay someone millions to sort out the playing side but then get upset when they are told what needs doing.

SAF had full backing and it worked. Nobody else gets anything like that level of trust, regardless of how successful they have been elsewhere.
