Probably the best they could have got. No top manager or young ambitious manager is going to Spurs now. Conte has killed that

They have replaced us as the leagues poison chalice

Tough job that, he's a brave man.

Friend of mine is a Celtic fan and agrees it's a brave move.

Says Ange is notorious for being a slow starter. Given time, he thinks he'll be a success, but also thinks the fans will keep him on a short leash.

One of these where he'll get hounded out unless they are off to a good start. Fans will have little patience cause they still see themselves as a club that belongs in the CL and just below the title contenders.

Brave man but I imagine he'll also be a well paid man.

Brave man or clever man? He’ll get by far and away the biggest pay day of his career and probably be paid off for years. Everyone knows spurs are a shit show so if he gets sacked early it will hardly harm his reputation

Yep this is it. Spurs are a mess and if he goes by Christmas he will still find work in a lower Premier League club

Nuno got 8 games right? Spurs fans need to adjust their expectations sharpish, or it'll be a never ending merry-go-round of managers and the slowly slipping backwards. They were in a worse situation when Poch first came in. It could be salvageable if you give the man some time.

Honestly, if I was a Spurs fan I'd be super underwhelmed but as others have said, they probably didn't have a whole lot of options. It'll either be a brilliant move or another short-term disaster. Spurs probably don't have much to lose at least giving it a try.,

Were they?

They got 69 points the season before Poch came in and that was under the dream team of Villas Boas then Tactics Tim but were still top 6

Yes, their squad was horrendous. Wasn't hard to finish top 6 those days. Everton were the only half decent non-Sky 6 team.

Levy was also stubbornly holding on to the players he wasted the Bale money on (as Tim Sherwood said recently, Roberto Soldado for example). It was a huge rebuild job, without the benefit of star players like Kane or Son to sell to generate funds.

Soldado signed the season before Poch took over. They still had players like Lloris, Walker, Dembele, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Soldado, Adebayor and a few more

They werent as poor as people made out
