Avfc96
I think Microsoft's cock-ups saved millions in Sony advertisement. Yep, with the amount of bad press that the Xbox one has had people seem to have already decided to switch from Xbox to Sony. Me included.

P3te
Knack has PS+ written all over it. Games don't get on PS+ without a metacritic rating above 70... which it won't have
villa4europe
anyone seen any decent reviewers putting their cock on the block and saying one or the other? seen plenty of features about comparisons etc but they are always fairly ambiguous, individual game reviews tend get the same score what are you saying p3te? Cliffy Biro
Most people dont want to piss one side off probably, think the most genuine reviews you'll get is from users aslong as they arent a fanboy.
villa4europe
problem is with users is those getting both at launch must be few and far between, so really all you are left with is fanboys... I know what you are saying, the likes of gamespot and ign etc aren't going to tell everyone to buy one or the other, was hoping someone like edge would though

Imo the ps4 is a no brainer given superior hardware and potential games. For the immediate fix, xbo Edited November 17, 2013 by P3te
PieFacE Posted November 17, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted November 17, 2013 Why would you give Current Software to XBO but Potential to PS4? Xbox have always upgraded the software/dash every couple of years to massively improve it. Did the PS3 do this? Kwan
I think he's talking about games. Pretty fair breakdown though
vandaq
Either way, games will be very limited as of now. Remember the first resistance game? Try playing that now, its horrible. There might be some gems early but I would say wait is the best option really. Then you will see which games are out, and you don`t have to wait that much. In my opinion ps4 is the way better choice considering price, hardware and the potential software. Sony has a lot of first party studios that are more talented than Microsoft has. Insomniac, Naughty Dog,Guerilla,SCE studios and so on. They also seem more focused on games themselves considering how they have marketed themselves and how ps3 has been for a couple of years now. Microsoft also focused more on the os itself leading up xbox one. They had several updates on the dashboard and features, and the whole kinect thing. Xbox one also stand for all in one. It`s more advertised as a complete entertainment system. Lot of the TV features will probably be US related like the NFL thing. Netflix and all that general stuff will be on both, in fact netflix was very popular on the ps3 wasn`t it? I do remember Microsoft said they had invested heavily in creating new studios before Xbox one launched and all that, so they might have something special up their sleeve, it`s hard to say because they could be bad companies who really don`t know how or has the ability to make big system seller games. It seems more likely that they will push with the exclusive content thing on multiplatform games, which is a letdown. Those things should not happen, but money talks and it`s gonna get more aggresive this gen. Sony is guilty in this too, so no good side there. All in all, PS4 for me at least looks like the better choice, but I am gonna wait as there was to many games delayed and the general launch lineup looks just like generic launch games. hogso
Xbox have always upgraded the software/dash every couple of years to massively improve it. Did the PS3 do this? (genuine question, i don't know) Nope, the PS3 didn't do it, it's been pretty much exactly the same since launch, as has the store. They changed it not that long ago, made it worse if anything, definitely one of the failings of the system and something they've never really seemed to put much effort in to. Which is odd, when you consider that something like Playstation Home has been running for years, being constantly updated. I presume you don't own a PS3 seeing as you didn't know if the UI had changed, so I'll presume you don't know what Playstation Home is either - it's basically an MMO. You have a human avatar that you can dress up, and walk around with. There are various themed levels for new releases, which have mini games and stuff to play. It's quite the technical feat, but, unfortunately, rather pointless really. At one time they had this huge EA casino, which had an actually really fantastic Poker (texas hold em) game for up to 8 players. There were tons of tables, with I think 3 levels of buy in, but it only used in game credits, you didn't/couldn't buy them with real money or anything like that. It worked great. It was pulled at some time or other though, and I haven't actually been on Home for a very long time now. Anyway, the point is, it seemed to me they had the right kind of idea, but didn't implement it quite right. The UI needed serious work, but never got it, yet they continued to invest time in to a pretty novelty. I can only assume it was popular...somewhere. Hopefully they'll get it the right way around with PS4. Incidentelly, I don't know if Home is on PS4 or not...
Ghost
I'm pretty sure Home was ditched for PS4. I think in the 5/6 years I've owned a PS3, I've never once clicked on Home. Not even by accident.
hogso
That had this actually quite innovative playable mystery story thing at one time, every week they'd unlock the next part and you'd have something to do, or discover, or some minigame to complete, and the story would progress. Damned if I can remember what it was called, though. It all revolved around this girl who had gone missing, who was involved with this secret to do with Home. It was probably the only time I would have advised anyone to have a look at it. XI! That's what it was. It was called Xi.
P3te
The UI for the PS4 is lovely. It's essentially the same as the one on the PS3, except the console is actually able to run it
Cliffy Biro
See all that money microsoft has to develop and research its console hasn't gone into doing away with the massive power block and god damn battery controllers? Stunned that this "next gen" console for 450 quid and you still have to use aa's and a power block half the size of the actual console and this is coming from an xbox fan. lapal_fan
I wouldn't, I had an old xbox and the I didn't have room to put the power block in my tv cabinet, it had to sit on the side of it and looks **** ugly.

Just dont understand how this day in age they still use a massive block and cant make a rechargeable controller or they can but want to rip you off further by buying a pack for it. I assume that the ps4 doesnt have a massive block and has rechargeable batteries again this time around like they did when the technology was new 8 years ago?
