theboyangel
So Kendrick implies we're looking to bring in 6 players - I'd guess that'd be 1 - GK to replace Given (????) 2 - LB (Creswell) 3 - CB (Lescott/Dragovic/Chester) 4 - CM (Luke Murphy) 5 - AM (Tonev) 6 - ST (Popov/Austin/Gayle) I think i'd be quite happy with a combination of those players. Where is that said? Twas on that there Twitter

TrentVilla Posted June 1, 2013 Moderator Share Posted June 1, 2013 There is a story on the Birmingham Mail site saying Lambert wants 6 signings, it doesn't have any quotes but I'd say it is about right. Although personally depending on departures I think it will be closer to 10.

I'd like - Ireland, Given, Bent, Bannan, Warnock*, Hutton, Lichaj*, Albrighton and Dunne* all to go (*all but gone) Then between 6-8 signings and 1-2 loans. BG_Villa_Fan
Now Popov would be quality. Not an out and out goalscorer but he offers a lot of creativity, dribbles and passes really well and is a hard-worker.
CI
10 signings ? That's a bit optimistic. 4-7 I reckon

CI
Eastern Europeans , have any worked out well down the villa? All I can think is Curcic, Savo (ok at times), Baros, Stas. Only Stan seems to have done well.

Qwpzxjor1
I think we'll hold on to N'Zogbia for another season. I think he still has something to offer, he was showing glimpses last season of the player we paid 12m for, I think Lambert will persevere, especially as we lacked width last season. It depends on whether N'Zogbia wants to stay, if anyone wants him or whether he will kick up about having to work for a first team place, because at the moment he's not. It also depends on whether we can tie Wiemann here for a little longer. If Wiemann does go then we'll need N'Zogbia next season.

Only Stan seems to have done well. Eastern Europeans are slightly more consistent than the Russians in the Premier League. The hot zone for foreign imports seems to be a line drawn between Poland and Belarus to the East and one drawn from Ireland to Portugal to the West.
