Think there's some massive overreactions here (no surprises there then). Sunderland winning today was a setback but we still needed to win that game anyway. Fortunately there are other teams in this mess so it's still wide open.

Sunderland's win came at a good time for them, admittedly, but it was also a local derby. Anything can happen in local derbys, especially when it's against a team like Newcastle, who have been pretty poor recently.

I'm not saying Sunderland aren't going to go on a run and get out of trouble, but it could just be an anomaly, a freak result against their local rivals. I think people are overreacting.

It's in our hands now and our run in isn't as bad as it could be. If we go down then frankly we deserve to.

* if Man Utd 1-0 lead stands

This has got me worried again. The results of the last few weeks have been very unpredictable. Everyone but the bottom two and Stoke are picking up points, but Stoke may well turn it around.

Eeek... just did a predictor and had it coming down to the last day. Luckily i know feck all.

Had Sunderland 14th on 39 points. Villa relegated on 37.

So pretty tight.

We could get something out of next week.

ManU are not heving the best of runs: 1-0 against Reading (H), 0-1 Sunderland (A), 1-2 ManC (H), and now only 0-1 against Stoke.

They're still picking up points but they're not cruising past opponents that are there for the taking (Reading, Sunderland under MON, now Stoke).

We're currently scoring goals in every game, they're not scoring loads in recent weeks.

It's a long shot, but why shouldn't we go for a point.

edit: they just scored a penalty, but this doesn't change my point too much.

We can definitely get something at United, they've scored only 1 goal in most of their games recently, and got their second today from a penalty. I reckon Villa will be much improved going forward with Gabby back next week (?).
