juanpabloangel18
he's just put two croatians into palermo and udinese so it sounds like a free for all and everyone gets to panic buy stage now.Neither Udinese or Palermo have signed any Croatian players. BOOM! Another 'ITK' bites the dust.
kevangrealish
Not defending him as i think he was extremely defensive, boring and brought it on himself by putting out awful starting 11's. But he has a lot of valid points in there... Petrov the captain out, brought in jenas and he was out injured. Bent was injured for 17 games. We had just lost NRC,Ashley young and Stuart Downing and he took on the job even though he was meant to balance the books ( Which not a lot of managers would do ) . And the signings brought in were completely off form Given,Hutton and N'Zogbia.

juanpabloangel18
Re-McLeish: He never 'had' Ashley Young or Stewart Downing. Not even for a pre-season game. He made signings. They were largely terrible. He's now just resorting to mentioning successful players he 'might' have signed this summer, and slagging off our young players so his job prospects look slightly better. He's a pitiful excuse of a manager and a pitiful excuse of a man.

stanthemanisgod
A lot will depend on how Lambert wants us to set up. I think we're currently more suited to 4-3-3/4-2-1-3 type formation with Ireland in the middle and perhaps players like N'Zog, Bent and Gabby forming a front 3. If that's the case a LB and another striker are key with a good DM as a nice to have. Alternatively if it's going to look more like a traditional 4-4-2 then we need another winger or 2 because I dont think N'Zog is effective as an out and out winger and Albrighton isn't consistent enough for a whole season. We would also still need a LB and a second Striker and a DM would still be a nice to have. Personally I think it'll be the former with 2 or 3 players targetted rather than the latter with 4 or 5 players targetted. Which would possibly fit with the players we're being linked with and all the talk of the importance of Ireland, N'zog and Gabby from the manager. Thoughts? sonic_bouma
he can't be lining up a bid for Fletcher or Jarvis... the prices already quoted are too ridiculous.... i rate both players but wouldn't go above 6-7m for either of them

coda
a mate of mine recently became a football agent and he is at VP on thurs. he represents a famous striker - his words - wont say who he is at this stage but said villa arent interested. he also thinks we'll struggle this year as we arent in the hunt for many of the players doing the rounds. eithe r we have a masterplan and noone knows it or the lack of movement is worrying No offense pal, your mate recently became an agent and he said we weren't in for many players that were doing the rounds...I dont think its the kind of business where they run every potential deal by the new fish in the pond... and secondly the fact that we aren't in the hunt for many players "doing the rounds" is a good thing if they're anything like the players doing the rounds from our club (Hutton and Warnock). none taken, i agree with all you say. he's a sales guy who got into it with a small agency and said its a bizarre job. he's just put two croatians into palermo and udinese so it sounds like a free for all and everyone gets to panic buy stage now. will be interesting to hear what he says about the meet tomorrow thoughTell your mate to get a Twitter account so I can mock him. Wainy316
People say Given kept us up, what about Weimann's crucial goals against Stoke and Fulham? You could apply that to any single performance though considering 2 points less and we were down. For instance we would have gone down without Robbie Keane's two goals against Wolves.
