  1. Havent been on for a while - great to be back on page 1874! Anyway, came up with a new song for Jack if anyone's interested, to the tune of danny boy, so a nod to his Irish roots. May need some tweaking! Oh jacky boy, The holte the holte is calling The trinity, and witton side by side You’re one of us, we love to see you flying Home and away, you’re Aston Villa’s pride You beat the blues, they’re always in your shadow In England's white we watch you in full flow So we’ll be here in good times or in fallow cos jacky boy oh jacky boy we love you so
  2. for aaron tsibola. meh meh meh aaron tsibola!
  3. I cant see why jack or McCormack cant be the attacking midfielder anyway. and ref the winger, isn't that what andre green is?
  4. my one and only ITK post. retiring undefeated!
  5. I live in bristol and watched city a few times last year. Kodija is good on the ground and far more mobile than gestede but wanted to walk the ball in at times rather than shoot. Would link well with jack and Ross though I think
  6. I thought his body language on sat was awful. Stood around most of second half looking like he'd rather be anywhere but there. I'd have taken him off and brought green on when he was shifted to right mid as that seemed to do even more damage to his already low levels of interest! Head went after not squaring to Ross for 2-0 I think and then stopped trying
  7. He reckons kodija wants to go too so we shall see. I'm trying to find if any decent odds on it!
  8. I have a contact at bristol city who said kodija met with villa today and looks positive. £12mill plus add ons.
  9. loved the second verse of dr tony went rome dr tony huttons crap, can we have a right back right backs don't score wondergoals so you can have McCormack verse three dr tony guzans crap please give us a goalie dr tony quite agrees, so you can have gollini How about D R T O N to the D I S C O chant too!
  10. Shorter version of I love you baby (Andy williams version) You're just too good veretout cant take my eyes off of you De de de de de de da da de de de da daaaaa we love you Jordan and if it's quite alright we love Jordan and the city are shite we love jordan trust in us when we say etc etc
  11. Its my 40th on sunday 27th september. On that day in 1975 villa beat the blues 2:1, i still have the argos at home my dad kept for me so would happily take that again tonight as an early b'day present!
  12. I bumped into Hutton in villamoura two weeks ago, had a high five and an up the villa. Good guy, should keep him
  13. We are the famous, the famous hole end clap clap clap
  14. for all the plaudits and ithink he's leaving with far more dignity than coudve been exopected, he has chosen to not play hutton / bent etc for large periods. yes they are on large wages but if you have to pay them you may as well play them. didnt really work and then doing a total change of mind with hutton didnt make him look the most organised. hope he does well elsewhere, it had just run its course. many more managers may have reached the results we have recently but other clubs make the decision to fire quicker than we have.
  15. i think he always conducted himself admirably and genuinely did recognise the "futble clubbs histre" (football club's history in english) and his role here but ultimately it was a lack of tactical nous that was the downfall, not financial restrictions. he is a good spotter of players (bar some duffs) and would make a great scout but he couldnt motivate or change things when he needed to and that was the problem. i feel relief for us and him now its over. onwards and upwards and i wish him the best
  16. You need to send this info to the club as i feel for you and your son i really do!! im the same, i live in bristol and my 8 year old wears his villa kit to training with his team and it pains me to see him getting the mick taken. his 4 years of being interested in football and coming to VP with me have been so bad i think he'll be ringing childline if we go again. whats happened to this once great club. lambert shouldve gobe after the bradford game but he wont resign as he's on too big a contract to leave it, lerner wont sack him for same reason the payout is massive so we're drifting along with no direction other than down,
  17. Goals you say? When you've had a long day, villa talk always gets a chuckle out of me. Good work fellas!
  18. i think Pep knew luiz enrique had fallen out with messi and co and said to lambert if you get them rolling the ball out from the you may be in with a chance of getting the gig. just say you know me.
  19. Hey there, you don't happen to have the National Lottery numbers for tomorrows draw, do ya? See, what you've done there is nothing more than what is your interpretation of events in the future you think may happen. I like to hedge my bets by saying "against Bournemouth we could win, lose or draw" - then I've covered all three eventualities. That said, I bet you haven't put money on your prediction, but if you did, you'd stand to win considerably more than what you'd initially laid out. touche - alas i dont, but if i did win id be investing it into the club and bringing ray wilkins into the fold to get some crispness into our sideways passing. ive only seen bournemouth on the box however they do pass it about and in directions other than sideways. lambert saying we're now a possession team will be interesting against another team that pass it about and i would wager they will pass it about more than we do in the opposing third. i could coach cleverly et al to pass the ball around the half way line and i wouldnt say we were excellent if they did. id rather lambert said i dont really know what im trying to get them to do but you're stuck with me, than him saying i dont know why you are booing me as we have possession.
  20. havent read the last couple of pages yet but all the fans in the mail over last couple of days saying it isnt lamberts fault as his hands are tied for wages and transfer fees, wait till we get schooled by bournemouth at home by players on less wages who cost less. its a myth about the wages and fees when the whistle blows, its about giving people the direction or opportunity to play good football. lambert thinks tactics are a brand of breath mint
  21. cleverley is a water carrier with a bucket full of holes. i dont get the logic of us losing delph because of wages and then paying £5 mill for a 20 year old from fulham because he's cheaper than delph. if we pay delph £10k more a week with a new contract we are £1.5 mill worse off than the current deal he is on. For arguments sake £9 mill over three years ' 360k a week, versus £5mill + agents fee + £20k a week for 3 years for an untried championship player is still £8/9 mill. dont mind losing vlaar but delph i think is going to get better. on a different note all the fans saying it isnt lamberts fault as his hands are tied for wages and transfer fees, wait till we get schooled by bournemouth at home by players on less wages who cost less. its a myth about the wages when the whistle blows, its about giving people the direction or opportunity to play good football.
  22. Drove up from bristol with my poor son who I drag along with me, i still love arriving at vp and the pre match buzz but we are so poor to watch these days it's 7 hours and a lot of money I'll not get back. Where to start eh. I like the idea of trying to pass from the back but seeing okore jog 30 yards to the half way line without a tackle heading his way shows the opposition clearly have us sussed and happy for,us to have it Sideways. Sideways, sideways. Painful. We could play the wing back formation when it was Gary Charles and Alan wright bombing on but our midfield don't move it quickly enough to the wings and when the fullbacks have the ball now they have no one up front running the channels or looking for a one two to give them the chance to get behind. Weiman - if we aren't playing him up front he's not worth playing. Tries hard but running full pelt at Hutton just to pass the ball back to him isn't a contribution. Benteke - one of best headers of ball in league yet we play no wingers to cross the ball. Looks frustrated but no movement isn't helping Front 3 - no movement, no plan, stood around, it just doesn't work Cleverley - not worth £7.5 mill, do not buy Guzan Hutton okore clark cissoko Sanchez Grealish Cole Delph robinson bent eke In Delphs absence maybe nzog but please God some creativity, 200 mile + round trips for this are too much and if lambert was honest and said we are clueless but you're stuck with me I'd have more respect than his we were excellent crap
  23. Should've won, vlaar solid, baker looks out of depth, albrighton did well, gabby what was he thinking and Tekkers would have smashed his shot in last season rather than crossing Carried Bennett in first half, westwood was excellent tonight, simple passes and touches to keep possession. Motm vlaar or Westwood. Need gabby and bnteke to get confidence back
  24. I think bosejour the old blues left back is one of best crossers in prem.
  25. we had 36% possession. we must easiuly have the worst possession of every team in the prem which is why we invite pressure, we cant keep the ball. as someone posted earlier, when we went three one up i said to a mate well we should get a draw from here as we arent tough enough to hold on. if it was 2 mins injury time we'd have squandered it in that space, we are almost waiting for it to happen. sad thing is i wouldnt have been surprised if we lost 4 -3.
