I suspect Levi has diplomatically changed "football" to "gridiron" and "soccer" to "football" in deference to the sensibilities of us British readers.

mayweather doesnt have any endorsements?

Outside of his sponsors for fights, nope.

Who would actually want mayweather as the face of their brand? The guy has made his millions by making people hate him.

And by being really really really good at boxing!

Well, that alone doesn't get you the kind of money his fights bring in.

The main reason his ppvs have so many buys are because there's a ton of people that just want to see him get knocked out. If he was a clean cut guy he wouldn't be making the money he is.

There's been plenty of people really really really good at boxing that just can't make anywhere near the same money as Mayweather does. Even Pacquiao isn't on anywhere near the same level when it comes to ppv buys.

...and he keeps winning. If he didn't have his 'Oh' a lot of people wouldn't tune in.

There are also plenty of pro boxers who are even more despicable than FMJ who can't back up their shitty actions with wins so can't cultivate the distaste people have for them.

IMO his earnings are based about half on his skill/record and half people's hate of him. Without the hate he'd make half as much but without the skill (even if he only had a little less) he'd make a lot less than half (again IMO).
