"But Cook responds by driving through the covers for four. That's the 50 up for England and a first half-century opening stand since the second innings of the second Test in the Ashes."

:hooray:

Pakistan crushed by an innings and 55, are they really crap or were we really good?

both, like the Lords test it seems a crap first batting innings had them always chasing and behind. They didn't bat too cleverly in the second innings either mind, but we did bowl well.

Next test match is in August. It looks like there are three rounds of county games between now and then (though not all counties are playing in each round). It doesn't seem like the longer form of the game is that much of a priority for those in charge of scheduling England cricket.

That Worcs v Warwicks game was a little more tense at the end than I thought it would be.

Unfortunate for it to (effectively) end like it did with Barker on his arse.

Cracking stuff from Moeen. Henry Brookes looks a very good prospect for Warwicks and as an international in a year or two.

it was a terrific match to watch. England did rather blow it a bit after a hot start. Run outs were both daft, Mo was needlessly aggressive having already hit enough sweet shots, but credit to Scotland, excellent effort.

Should of course be in the world cup.

conceding 371 to an associate nation is pretty dreadful though but fair play to Scotland for winning.

another 2 fingers to ICC and India who dont want the smaller teams in the World Cup

In partial defence of the bowlers, the pitch was " a belter" as they kept saying on the radio. Not very much for the bowlers at all, so although there was some weak bowling, missing Woakes and Stokes in there, it wasn't particularly woeful, just a bit flat with a few poor balls in there. I think even with better bowling, 300 was still a likely score given the pitch.

Agar really does love batting over here doesn't he.

For a guy with a repetoire of about two shots, he does very well!
